Food processing industry is of enormous significance for India's development and also to the
growth of State’s economy, as it promotes vital linkages and synergies between the two pillars of the economy- industry
and agriculture. The simple fact that the post-harvest losses are about 25 to 30 per cent in our country is the sole reason to give highest
priority to food processing industry in India.
Food processing industry is one of the largest industries in India contributing around 14 per cent of manufacturing Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 13 per cent of India’s exports
and 6 per cent of total industrial investment. Indian food service industry is expected to reach US$ 78 billion by 2018.The Indian gourmet food market is currently valued at US$ 1.3 billion and is
growing at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 20 per cent.

Andhra Pradesh occupies a premier position in the country’s agribusiness industry with major contribution in agriculture, horticulture, dairy, poultry, fisheries and marine production. Around 60% of the state’s population is employed in agriculture and related activities, it contributes 31.77 percent to the GSDP which make Food Processing one of the major thrust areas for the state. Andhra Pradesh is also popularly known as the ‘Rice Bowl of India’ owing to the large amount of rice grown in coastal plains of this state. Andhra Pradesh ranks first in India in Egg production, and in production of Mango, Papaya, Lemon and Tomato. As well as it holds 2nd position in India in production of Paddy, Groundnut and Maize production.
The various Agro Climatic Zones suitable for vast variety of agriculture, horticulture products and its strong position in Milk and Meat production makes AP one of the most attractive destination for investors in Food Processing industry. In this back drop, FTAPCCI is organizing a Food Processing Industry Conclave 2018, in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh on 4th, 5th & 6th January 2018.
The key objecTives of the Conclave are to create awareness on latest technologies and innovations in food processing. (Packaging and Processing), on various schemes of central & state government to promote food processing industry, and to address issues related to Food safety, Standards and Waste management For three days, “Food Processing Industry Conclave 2018” will bring together all the stakeholders of the industry, manufacturers, suppliers, equipment manufacturers, buyers, sellers, exporters, and researchers to interact and to do business face-to-face.

About the ConferenceWe are proud to announce the first Conclave specializing in the field of assessing prospects of food processing in India, and more particularly in AP, which is the largest producer of variety of crops, fruits and vegetables, fish and aqua in the country. This unique 3-Day conclave delves into a range of topics and issues on the subject. The Conference sessions will deal with Food Processing Policy of AP and Central Schemes for the promotion, Financing Schemes for setting up units, marketing, and export of products and services. The sessions will also focus on the safety and standards that should be fulfilled. These discussions will help participants identify the national regulations that must be met. There will also be informative lectures by esteemed speakers on opportunities in various segments of food processing industry, and latest techniques in preservation and maintenance of products.
