The simple fact that the post-harvest losses are about 25 to 30 per cent in our country is the sole reason to give highest priority to food processing industry in India. Food processing industry is one of the largest industries in India contributing around 14 per cent of manufacturing Gross Domestic Product (GDP), 13 per cent of India’s exports and 6 per cent of total industrial investment. Indian food service industry is expected to reach US$ 78 billion by 2018.The Indian gourmet food market is currently valued at US$ 1.3 billion and is growing at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 20 per cent. As well as it holds 2nd position in India in production of Paddy, Groundnut and Maize production. The various Agro Climatic Zones suitable for vast variety of agriculture, horticulture products and its strong position in Milk and Meat production makes AP one of the most attractive destination for investors in Food Processing industry. In this back drop, FTAPCCI is organizing a Food Processing Industry Conclave 2018, in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh on 4th, 5th & 6th January 2018.
