Walk for Siassi On Friday 29th March the Concordia College St John’s Campus community will again participate in a walkathon to raise funds for our partnership with the schools of Siassi, Papua New Guinea. Students and Staff are encouraged to seek sponsorship from relatives and friends for this event. Siblings may choose to do this either individually or collectively as a family unit. The Walkathon will be held at school, with classes walking laps around the oval, passing through checkpoints along the way. The Walkathon will commence at 9.30am with a service chapel service in the Hall preceding the event at 9am. SIASSI WALKATHON FRIDAY 29TH MARCH Why do we need to raise funds for Siassi? In 2010 the Concordia College Staff and Council agreed to develop a partnership with Aimalu Primary School on Siassi and a commitment was officially made through the Lutheran Church of Australia and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of PNG (ELC-PNG). Over recent years the ELC- PNG has conducted a review of school partnerships across the country, with the intention of strengthening the sustainability and safety of these partnerships. As a result of this review our partnership with Aimalu Primary School was extended to include all kindergartens, elementary and primary schools across Siassi. Our Siassi Walkathon is one way to secure the long-term financial viability of the partnership and provide students and families the opportunity to support, learn about and become involved with the partnership. We hold firmly to our partnership commitment and recognise that journeying with our Siassi brothers and sisters will always incur a range of costs. We appreciate your participation in this venture. We pray for our Siassi Partnership and our friends and partners across all the communities we support on Siassi in PNG.

SIASSI WALKATHON

FRIDAY 29TH MARCH

Why do we need to raise funds for Siassi?

In 2010 the Concordia College Staff and Council agreed to develop a partnership with Aimalu Primary School on Siassi and a commitment was officially made through the Lutheran Church of Australia and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of PNG (ELC-PNG). Over recent years the ELC-PNG has conducted a review of school partnerships across the country, with the intention of strengthening the sustainability and safety of these partnerships.
