WHAT IS SUCCESS COACHING?Grounded in research, the sense of belonging and mattering is a huge contributor to successful student

outcomes. The success coaching model requires high levels of intrusive outreach to various groups of students to ensure their success with proactive measures vs. reactive measures. The success coach provides student advocacy beyond the classroom. Coaches are integrally involved with all facets of a student’s academic,

personal, and future professional success.

Number of CTE concentrators who received an industry-recognized credential, a certificate, or a degree during the reporting year.

3P1 - Student Retention or Transfer

Number of CTE concentrators who remained enrolled in their original postsecondary institution or transferred to another 2- or 4-year postsecondary institution during the reporting year and who were enrolled in postsecondary education in the fall of the previous reporting year.

4P1 - Student Placement

Number of CTE concentrators who were placed or retained in employment, or placed in military service or apprenticeship programs in the 2nd quarter following the program year in which they left postsecondary education

5P1 - Non Traditional Participation

Number of CTE participants from underrepresented gender groups who participated in a program that leads to employment in nontraditional fields during the reporting year.

Number of CTE concentrators from underrepresented gender groups who completed a program that leads to employment in nontraditional fields during the reporting year.

CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION @ WCCFall 2017, Academic Deans identified key areas with high volumes of student withdrawals, low passing rates, and non–traditional participation. The piloted cohort of 150 CTE students enrolled at WCC are housed within three (3)

academic divisions, which include the following: Health Sciences, Business & Computers Technologies, and Advanced Technologies & Public Service Careers.
