You can check out all the details at https://westgarthfete.com and follow the action on Facebook and Instagram @WGFete. You can now register using the School Interviews system (the same one used to schedule parent - teacher interviews). https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au and use the code zw8gc Please consider if you could spend an hour or two or more helping out on fete day. Whopping Great Fete Update

What’s on at this year’s

Whopping Great Fete? Beautiful goods are being crafted, jams are cooking, plants

potted, silent auction prizes hunted and the carnival rides are booked!

You can check out all the details at https://westgarthfete.com and

follow the action on Facebook and Instagram @WGFete.

Volunteering on fete day More than 30 parents have responsibility for a stall or activity, and it's time to begin to drum up other

parents and carers as volunteers to help out with stalls, logistics and the pack down at the end of the

day.

You can now register using the School Interviews system (the same one used to schedule

parent - teacher interviews). https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au and use the code zw8gc

Please consider if you could spend an hour or two or more helping out on fete day. Also please feel

free to rock up on the Saturday setup, to help sort books, clothes, toys and more.

It's all super friendly and mostly fun.

Sponsorship The school has allocated a slightly bigger budget for rides this year

(7 in all). We are offering parents and businesses the opportunity to

sponsor a ride or stall. This is a great opportunity to make a personal or

business contribution to the school. Contact Susan Price at the school

on [email protected]. Please note donations can be made through Westgarth Primary School’s Tax Deductible Building Fund.

Chocolate Donations for the Choc Toss

Make sure the kids drop in their chocolate donations (bars, blocks, bags, we’ll take it all) for the Choc

Toss table at fete. Choc toss, is super popular and entertaining to watch for anyone hanging around.

4 WEEKS

TO GO!

Silent Auction Our Silent Auction team have been out and about in our community requesting donations

BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP

Are you able to provide an item for our Auction? Do you know anyone you can convince to donate to

our cause? Vouchers, experiences or even a bottle of wine would all be greatly received.

Are you a builder, architect, designer or gardener who could offer a service? We’re sure this would be

very popular with all the renovators in the area!

If you know someone who can help or can provide an item or voucher, please drop it off at the office

at the beginning of term 4.

If so, please contact Jo Wallis on [email protected] or 0407 056 047.

Wristband orders Order forms for Fete wristbands will be sent home early in the first week of term 4. Pricing will be in

line with last year, including early bird discounts.

When & Where are stall donations being taken? This question is starting to pop up so here’s the details.

STALL WHEN and WHERE

Cold Drinks

NOW! Drop off to the office at Brooke St

With the countdown to the Fete underway, it's time to let the

nagging begin! Next time you're at the shops please pick up a case

of soft drink for sale for the Cold Drinks stall. This very popular stall

runs entirely on donated stock, so please think of us and pop

something into your trolley and then drop it into the office. Easy as!

Books, games & DVD’s

NOW! Drop off to the gym corridor at Clarke St

Yes the doors have opened for book donations. Please ensure they

are in good condition packed neatly in boxes or bags – no tears or

the kids’ own artwork on the pages (scribbled on books aren’t big

sellers!)

We love the great variety of books we get and good quality

children’s books are very popular.

Craft

NOW! Drop off to the office at Brooke St

It’s time to start handing over the fruits of your labour. If you have

anything ready to donate to the Craft Stall, please get in touch so

that we can start planning and pricing. All donations welcome!

All items to be handed in by October 12, please.

Contact on [email protected] or 0412 738 390.

So, this year there will be no donations on the

Sunday of the fete!

The following items can be dropped off on

Saturday 20 October.

STALL WHEN and WHERE

Vintage (Adult) Clothes

First week of Term 4 at Brooke St Office & Saturday Before Fete

Day from 8am (Year 3 Portables)

It’s official! Spring has sprung! (Well, it’s getting ready to spring,

isn’t it…?). The WGF’s Vintage Clothes stall is famous across the land

and is eagerly awaiting the fruits of your wardrobe clear outs, so get

clearing - you know you want to! And make space for your fab new

purchases on fete day.

What do we want?

Donations don’t have be ‘vintage’ – but they do have to be good

quality, and in excellent pre-loved condition. No tracky dacks,

grubby old t-shirts or undies - please be discerning! We want your

quality clothes, shoes, jewellery, belts, scarves, hats, accessories of

all kinds for women and men.

If you think someone would buy it, we want it!

Children’s Clothes

First week of Term 4 at Brooke St Office & Saturday Before Fete

Day from 8am (Year 3 Portables)

The kids clothes stall are also looking forward to receiving your

donations of quality second hand kids clothes, shoes and

accessories of all descriptions, as long as they are in good, clean

condition with no tears or stains. Please make sure shoes are

matched pairs (extra points if you tie the pair together!)

Trash n’ Treasure

SATURDAY ONLY! Before Fete Day from 8am (Year 3 Portables)

The Terrific Trash and Treasure needs your unwanted treasure! Do

your spring cleaning now and bring your unwanted plates, glasses,

pots, vases, pet items, teapots, candle holders, wall hangings, small

furniture, lampshades (but not the bases), fondue sets, musical

instruments, etc. Tell your friends and neighbours to drop off their

unwanted stuff as well.

NO ELECTRICAL ITEMS! And nothing that an op-shop would not

sell please (don't want broken trash just the treasures!)

Toys

FRIDAY AFTERSCHOOL & SATURDAY! Before Fete Day from

8am (Year 3 Portables)

A favourite stall for the kids and parents to find a bargain amongst

the pre-loved toys. The kids can find a special keepsake from the

fete and parents can sort some Christmas presents early whilst the

kids aren’t looking! Donations will be taken at the Year 3 Clarke

Street portables on Friday 19th October from 3.30 to 6.00pm and

Saturday 20th October from 8am.

Thanks again for everyone’s support. The Whopping Great Fete is WPS’s major fundraiser for the year

and the kids’ favourite day on school grounds! So lock 21st October 10am-4pm into your diaries.

Anything else please don’t hesitate to contact Ian [email protected] or 0409 716 442.
