Motivation
• Motivation:– To have an RPSL compliant database– To take advantage of the enhanced syntax
checking and security– To establish the software platform to support
APNIC’s role as Internet Routing Registry– To have a better operational platform (response
time, enhanced mirroring)– To provide richer APNIC database query
options to the public

v3 Database) before APNIC-14 in September 2002

Cutover
• From 9:00-10:00 Brisbane time
• A few problems during cutover– Need fine tuning to handle the high load
• Some hosts gets blocked for intensive queries behavior (spam mining?)
– Web interface replacement needed more time than planned (extra 10 minutes)
