A note to anyone putting together their Guild programme:

Thank you for everything you do to ensure your Guild has an interesting a varied programme of

events. We hope this resource will be useful.

All potential groups that you might like to invite to speak at your Guild are organised into categories.

That way, if you know what subject you’d like to explore, but don’t know whom to ask, it will

hopefully be easy to find someone.

If you get stuck, please contact the Guild office!

• how long they should speak for• when they should invite questions, if at all• if there is a point in the meeting they can leave (if there

is business for example)• if they should bring any literature or items to sell or if

there are any restrictions on this (i.e. raffle tickets)

Remember to ask:

• if the speaker requires you to confirm the booking in writing

• if payment and/or travel expenses are required• if they require a parking space • if they need directions, or a post-code for their sat nav• if they require anything to show resources or items to

sell, like a table or display board• what technology requirements they have• if they have any dietary requirements• if there is a mobile number and email address you can

contact them directly on in case there are any last minute problems!
