Who we are

� e Whitman Counseling Center is an outpatient mental health clinic that serves people with wide-ranging mental health needs. In philosophy andpractice, we are concerned about and respect thedignity of each individual. We seek to empower our clients to achieve their full potential, and use a variety of therapeutic approaches to achieve desirable out-comes. By coordinating our services with local public and private agencies, we maximize resources for clientsand sta� to promote successful integration into family, work, and community life.

Who we serve

We serve people of all ages who are experiencingpersonal di� culties in their lives due to troubling psychiatric and/or emotional symptoms. � ese could arise from factors that include stress (current or past), life crises, problems in school, developmentalissues, mental illness, adjustment disorders, and substance abuse. O� ering great service � exibility, we can see clients at school, at work, or other community locations.

A part of BAMSI Brockton Area Multi-Services, Inc. is a statewide humanservices organization dedicated to “bringing people and services together.” Incorporated in 1975, BAMSI is one of the largest minority non-pro� t organizations inMassachusetts and delivers a broad spectrum of high-quality services to individuals and families. Service areas include family stabilization; counseling education and outreach; public health; developmental disability; mental health; elderly; and information and referral.

� e Counseling Center Treatment Team is comprised of psychiatrists who see adults and children; licensed psychologists; licensed clinical social workers; certi� edpsychiatric nurse clinical specialists; and licensed master’s level mental health counselors. � ey and our clients enjoy the bene� t of a specially trained support sta� .

We are licensed by the Department of Public Health and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Our broad services include:

When considering admission

We provide services to those who are willing toengage in an active, individualized treatment plan.

We are committed to providing services to persons in need, and to that end, have a reasonable fee scale and accept many insurance plans as well as self-pay.

Fees are typically covered by most health insurance policies, including those o� ered by Mass Health, Medicare/Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Tufts, Harvard Pilgrim, HMOs, and other companies.
