Some data collected from the internet!

For airplanes– Airplanes are safer because crashes are lesser– Airplanes have professionals flying them

Against airplanes– There are 100,000 cars for every 1 airplane. So if we create

a baseline, airplanes would be as unsafe as cars

So, what is the truth?

What is safe depends on what you “think”!

Reality of security is mathematical

Feeling of security is psychological

– You feel you are safe even though you may be not (Flying??)

– You may not be safe even though you think you may be (Consuming cola??)

Example: “Perception” influences your choice of what is “safe” and “unsafe” In 2006, in India there was a huge controversy around

pesticides in Cola There was huge coverage in media (TV, print and

internet) Media undoubtedly influences the way we think

(perception) Most participants in the training provided “what they

saw in the media” as the reason as to why they considered cola unsafe!
