    Today I will commit one random act of senseless kindness

    CHECK OUT TIDE CHARTand go for a long walk onour beautiful beaches, (better yet, ride your bike). Youll

    pass several beautiful hotels, oceanfront homes, & enjoythe soft breezes you came here for. Tides fluctuate asmuch as seven feet. Plan ahead & leave your towels & pic-nic supplies far enough back so they wont get soaked orwashed away. (The tide chart is in theNautical Notes sec-tion, or refer to the Table of Contents or see page 70.)

    TAKE AN EARLY MORNING WALK ON THE BEACHor a bike ride. Enjoy coffee at one of the oceanfronthotels or take your coffee with you. (Check the tide chartin the Nautical section to see how much beach youll havefor walking. High tide is not the best time.) But onlybecause the water comes up almost to the dunes, andtheres no point getting your tennis shoes wet. Remember:NO GLASS ON THE BEACH! Strictly enforced. And itwill NOT BE FREE!

    W INTER GALLERY WALK Nov 20 3-8pm in OldTown Bluffton. See the works of more than 200artists including every medium of art as you stroll fromgallery to gallery on Calhoun Street and near by.Refreshments will be served in each of the participatinggalleries. It is free, but you may be tempted to purchase

    one of the beautiful works displayed for your viewing plea-sure. Youll see artists at their easels, and talk with many ofthem who will be there to greet you. Its the perfect oppor-tunity to do some holiday shopping for that hard to pleaseperson on your list.

    Expressway. The speed limit changes dramatically before orafter you cross. Believe me, it will not be free!!!!Those tick-ets, really make for a bad day!!!Have some change for the tollbooth. They take names (actually license plate numbers) if

    you speed through and dont pay the toll. We want you tohave fun and not take home bad memories or points on your

    license. Courtesy usually prevails, but just in case, give theguy thats in such a hurry all the room he needs. Youll arriveabout the same time he does, but without the stress (or aticket) And youll have that money in your pocket to spendon food and fun.)

They produce wines pur-chased from world renowned regions right here onHilton Head. Take home a bottle or several for yourfriends back home. Be sure to have them autographed.

    AIRBRUSH TANNING BY CHLOE This is probably thebest time of the year to get that golden glow. Chloe willmake you look like you just came back from a cruise (or a

    RENT A BIKE! See the Island up close. Shopping, orlunch at one of the hotel restaurants on the beach or onyour chosen trail. The wide balloon tires so popular hereare really insurance should you ride through unexpectedloose sand on the road or bike trail. They're a must on thebeach. Bike & rollerblade paths run along side Hyw 278almost the entire length of the Island as well as throughthe plantations & across the Cross Island Expressway.PLEASE STOPAT THE little STOP SIGNS .
