ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW
Legacy Leadership Africa initially began as Beyond YALI Africa but changed name midway. Central to this
change of name was the growing body of need to expand and incorporate certain aspects in leadership
initially left out. At its inception, Oduor Kevin who initially founded the organization, mainly focused on
offering mentorship to high school and primary students, youth in the community, churches and organizing
information session to those who desired to join YALI (Young Africa Leaders Initiative founded by President
Obama). Being an alumnus of this lucrative program, Oduor, by then, felt compelled to cause a ripple effect
and share the lessons learnt during this one-month long intensive program. With the general belief that
“Knowledge Not Shared is Knowledge wasted”, Beyond YALI Africa pressed on to deliver its objectives and
spur leadership growth among young people.
Before long however, it became apparent that there was and urgent and pressing need to explore new
skylines and revamp the organization by bringing in new team full of energy, altruism, and passion for
spurring leadership growth. To this end, Oduor and Ogweno Stephen (also YALI alumnus and Founder,
Stowelink Inc.) came together to give the organization a new outlook and subsequently changed the name of
the organization to Legacy Leadership Africa. While leveraging this combined effort, Oduor and Stephen
mobilized a very formidable team of young yet experienced individuals in leadership matters. Since then,
Legacy Leadership Africa has continued to provide leadership and mentoring services, and inculcating a new
narrative; leadership with lasting legacy.
Brief History
About Us
Legacy Leadership Africa is an organization whose primary ethos is to raise a generation of premium
leaders across Africa, who are inspired and committed to creating change and leaving a lasting legacy
of impact to families, communities and nations across the continent.
As an organization, we believe that Africa is endowed with a lot potential but lags behind due to lack of
transformative leadership; leadership with lasting legacy. The leadership in Africa has not been
transformative enough to arouse the desired change and impact the continent is longing for. With
disruptive leadership and corporate training and mentorship, Legacy Leadership Africa envisages that
it will ultimately inculcate the leadership with lasting legacy and raise a generation of effective leaders.

Perhaps, our single most obligation is to serve human kind. At LLA, we are driven by the desire to raise a generation
of leaders creating positive impact for humanity. We derive our satisfaction from serving humanity and creating the
much-needed change.
POSITIVITY
In order to carry a positive action, we must develop here a positive vision. We believe that life is full of abundance
and that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day. In our leadership training and mentorship, we
implore the young people to embrace positivity. Positivity attracts good tidings.
INNOVATION
The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible. The world is undergoing
rapid transition because of the technological advancement yet there are many pressing problems that still remain
unsolved. To solve these pressing needs in the society, leadership, innovation and creativity are the antidote.
RESULT ORIENTED
Quality and precision are never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort. Nothing in life is so exhilarating
as to be shot at without results. We focus on delivering results yet we do not forget that the process is equally
important.
OPTIMISM
Optimism is the foundation of all success. We implore our mentees, clients and audience to be hopeful and confident
about the future. With the right mindset, the future is always luminous.

ODUOR KEVIN
Oduor Kevin is a project management expert helping organizations develop and
run successful and sustainable projects. He is continuously coordinating health
projects in 10 countries in Africa through Stowelink Inc where he serves as the
chief programmes officer. He is also a published researcher who represented
Kenya At the Commonwealth CWNMC conference in the UK and won the
prestigious Hideyo Noguchi Research Scholarship Award by The World Health
Organization. Oduor Kevin possesses a strong leadership acumen having
undergone some of the best leadership institutes including YALI and the Ban Ki
Moon Global Citizen Scholars. His vast mentorship experience led to his
appointment as a global mentor by Mentee, a global organization based in
Chicago, USA.
OGWENO STEPHEN
Ogweno Stephen is a Population Health expert with a vast experience in helping
organizations discover innovation, entrepreneurship, and cross functional
leadership within their teams. Ogweno Stephen is also the founder of Stowelink
Inc, an organization in 10 countries whose aim is to improve literacy and access
to care for non-communicable diseases. He is a multi-award-winning CEO and
author who has also presented at the Windsor Castle and Royal College of
Physicians, UK. Ogweno has undergone some of the world’s best leadership
training institutes and forums including The One Young World and the
Cambridge University Institute of Sustainability Leadership where he has
learned and continues to implement exceptional leadership.

LEWIS MOMANYI
Lewis Momanyi is a Business Development Specialist who has worked with
various corporates across Africa providing them with analysis of their
existing practices and making recommendations necessary for their
improvements. Lewis is a certified trainer of trainers by International
Financial Corporation an affiliate of world Bank and has also been certified
and trained by European Investment Bank (EIB). Recently, Mr. Momanyi was
appointed to be part of the Global Mentors by Mentee, A global mentorship
organization based in Chicago, USA to mentor youths across the world on
areas of business development, strategy, and communication.
NATO JOAN
Nato Joan is a community, gender and leadership enthusiast who has
accumulated vast experience having worked with organizations such as
Pathfinders International, ActionAid International, Kenyatta University and
Population Services Kenya (PS-Kenya) as a Chairperson in counselling,
mentorship, and Reproductive health projects. She has also worked with
NGOs such as Fahamu Network for Social Justice where she worked with Your
Voice Matters Project as the Chairperson and the East Africa Coordinator.
Through this platform she engaged with youths and Women across East
Africa. Nato Joan is a graduate from Kenyatta University and has also studied
Chinese Language and literature in Confucius Institute and Shandong Normal
University, China.
BERYL ACHIENG
Beryl Achieng is an International Relations enthusiast with a passion and
experience in African development, gender and youth, and sustainable
development goals. As a mentor and leader, she has served in various
capacities including under The Equity Leaders Program where she is an
alumnus and a current mentor. She was also the first campus director of the
United States International University-Africa, under the UN Academic Impact
Millennium Fellowship. Also, she serves as the regional coordinator for Kectil
Youth Leadership Program and is a Young Leaders Access Fellow. Beryl is a
graduate of International Relations from the United States International
University-Africa (USIU-Africa)

BRUCE MUNANDI
Bruce Munandi is an economist and a development expert with interests in developing
sustainable and business and development projects in communities and institutions. He
has worked with corporate institutions including The Kenya Commercial Bank and the
with Promasidor Kenya Limited serving at different positions ad bringing positive
contribution to these institutions.He is a graduate of Kenyatta University where he
exemplified exceptional leadership as a student leader. He was the founding
chairperson of the Peer Mentor Club where he led the club to become the best club at
Kenyatta University winning multiple awards and recognition. Bruce takes particular
interest in reading and personal development.
