Where is justice? By Adriel Francis Sison (February 2015) Why? Oh why? I have walked this earth since its creation quietly watching its demise and reincarnation I pondered the purpose of my existence Filling my head with pointless questions and Distracting myself with mindless self-deception When will I learn my true purpose? I see these poor people suffering Their hunger rivals that of monsters in the night These monsters are greedy and have hearts as black as the deepest abyss They stuff themselves growing fat with every bite And live of the misery of people who give up without a fight Sleeping soundly in their golden caves While the people cower in the shadows Hoping they’ll be spared of the monsters’ wrath And they would not be swallowed Why do these monsters live in such luxury and indulgence While the people suffer? Where is justice? Is it just an imaginary concept devised by humans to give life meaning? I watched the monsters and soon realized what they really were They were men with hearts of paper corrupted by greed Whenever I see them I wonder if they can be freed But as I watched them devour the people I ask myself “who needs the saving?” I made my decision! With sword and shield in hand I rushed to the people’s aid and fought The monsters were vicious with their speed and talons Almost as if they were falcons My strength was fading and so was my will

Where is justice? By Adriel Francis Sison (February 2015)

Why? Oh why? I have walked this earth since its creation quietly watching its demise and reincarnationI pondered the purpose of my existenceFilling my head with pointless questions andDistracting myself with mindless self-deceptionWhen will I learn my true purpose?

I see these poor people suffering Their hunger rivals that of monsters in the nightThese monsters are greedy and have hearts as black as the deepest abyssThey stuff themselves growing fat with every bite And live of the misery of people who give up without a fight

Sleeping soundly in their golden caves While the people cower in the shadowsHoping theyll be spared of the monsters wrath And they would not be swallowed

Why do these monsters live in such luxury and indulgenceWhile the people suffer?

Where is justice? Is it just an imaginary concept devised by humans to give life meaning?

I watched the monsters and soon realized what they really wereThey were men with hearts of paper corrupted by greedWhenever I see them I wonder if they can be freedBut as I watched them devour the peopleI ask myself who needs the saving?

I made my decision!

With sword and shield in handI rushed to the peoples aid and foughtThe monsters were vicious with their speed and talonsAlmost as if they were falcons My strength was fading and so was my willBut I pushed through and finished my one last kill

Standing proudly on top of the monsters slayedI soon realize what justice is. It is a choice that is overseenBy people who have the heart to keep it real and alive

I am Justice
