On the basis of an exceedingly versatile modular system, we also develop and supply individually configured, large-scale shredder systems alongside our proven serial models. They are tailored to meet our customers’ specific requirements or structural conditions. Our experts are available to advise from the planning stages to installation.

Seamless data protection needs uninterrupted, failure-free operation. Therefore all the project phases from development to delivery are subject to continuous quality assurance in compliance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000. In designing all the intimus®

heavy duty shredders, special attention has been paid to providing maintenance-friendly access to all the service points.

Hard Drive Shredders

Hard drives are now standard equipment in every company, every government agency, and almost every household. They make it possible to process large amounts of data in a small space, to archive it and to reproduce it if necessary. Due to their high storage capacities, they may contain millions of written pages and numerous pieces of confidential information, such as pictures, movies, spreadsheets or financial data. All this information is usually secured against unauthorized access, as long as they are in use. If the information is later no longer needed, the mere deletion of files is not a sufficient solution. Even mechanical destruction with a sledgehammer or drill provides no certainty with regard to the actual deletion of the data. Final and irrevocable solutions are offered only by data deletion in a degausser or mechanical disruption in a hard drive shredder.

With degaussing, the memory segments of the hard disk are changed by means of a strong magnetic pulse such that a recovery of the data is impossible. This process is characterized above all by the simple operation and minimal space requirements, which also allows for its use in an office environment. The product line of intimus® degaussers range from compact desktop units up to the high-performance models, approved according to current requirements of the NSA.

The hard drive shredders from intimus disassemble hard drives quickly and reliably into the smallest elements. Through the simple visual inspection, this process provides the maximum success control. The wide product range includes solutions for various security requirements – up to and including security level H-5 according to DIN 66399.

For decades, the destruction of Data Carriers was governed by the standard DIN 32757-1:1995-01, which applied exclusively to paper. With the rapid spread of digital Data Carriers and growing demands for information security, a revision became necessary. The intimus® data shredder series features Silentec ®, a completely new design of the bearing of the cutting head that results in maximum absorption of the vibrations generated during shredding.

Long-term, trouble-free use.

It is human nature to push technical equipment beyond its limits. In the case of data shredders this results in jamming of the cutting unit and stoppage.

DLS Dynamic-Load-Sensor detects the paper volume as it is fed into the cutting unit and guards against this situation.

Hard drives are now standard equipment in every company, every government agency, and almost every household. They make it possible to process large amounts of data in a small space, to archive it and to reproduce it if necessary. So comfortable and enriching this is in everyday life, there's still a lot of ignorance with regard to proper deletion when storage media needs to be retired.

Companies must proceed with great care, not least because of legal requirements concerning the protection of personal data in the handling and disposal of discarded storage media. Those responsible must develop a comprehensive strategy to prevent the theft and misuse of data.

The misconception that drills, hammers and freeware are suitable tools for deleting data from hard drives still holds on tenaciously. These methods are appropriate at the most for insensitive private data.

Degaussers

When degaussing, the storage media are flooded with a very strong magnetic field that far exceeds their own magnetic force, the coercivity of the hard disk. The short and strong pulse erases the data on the hard disk irrevocably. Degaussing is characterized above all by the simple operation and minimal space requirements, which also allows for its use in an office environment.


In the intimus® hard drive shredders, the disks are broken into tiny parts. The powerful machines are fast and reliable. The product range includes machines for various applications and offers solutions up to and including security level H-5 according to DIN 66399. The shredding of the hard drive is a safe and economical destruction process, with the possibility of a simple and visual inspection of the successful destruction.

Large-scale shredders 80 – 500 kg: High-throughput shredders

For decades, the intimus® heavy duty shredders haveproven to be centrally positioned pieces of equipment for the privacy-friendly disposal of disused media. The model range offers variations that can handle up to 550 sheets/h or even complete folders in a single operation. The spacious feed table with integrated infeed conveyor belt provides controlled, effortless, safe and fast loading. The shredded material is collected in large-scale, mobile or swing-out containers under the cutting mechanism. The shred-press combinations are coupled to a baler for immediate fully automatic compaction of the cut material into compact bales. Reduction effect compared to the loose collection of the cuttings is about 70%.

The destruction of even large volumes of documents and storage media within the company itself offers significant benefits and guarantees compliance with its own standards for a privacy-friendly business management.

Data carrier shredders: Universal shredding of various storage media

Various materials such as CD, DVD, Video or magnetic tapes as well as all kinds of plastics or tin are destroyed for reasons of authentication or security in our intimus VZ Special shredders.Three standard models with optional extras are available as modular system to build almost any customised application, which will incorporate a cost-efficient and safe solution with top performance.

Disintegrators

The higher the security requirements for the data-comminution, the smaller the particles the material must be shredded into. With conventional shredder technology, this means that the cutting shafts become more and more delicate and thus are also more prone to damage and wear. The disintegrators meet the current trend to higher security requirements for industrial users and the demand for the highest security for governmental locations and banknote printing works at high throughput rates.

Based on proven technology, the intimus disintegrators were perfectly adapted for the reliable and economical shredding of paper and plastics in the form of paper documents, printed valuables such as banknotes or passports, magnetic media such as plastic cards or floppy disks as well as optical media such as CDs or DVDs.

shredders provide for a unique type of corrugated recycling:

they transform used corrugated cartons into valuable padding

material and packaging filler. The resulting stuffing materials

ensure reliable protection during shipping –

even for sensitive and heavy goods. These

practical filler material shredders pay for

themselves quickly at any organisation that

receives and ships packages on a regular

basis.

PacMaster and PacMate convert cardboard cartons into large-volume pads suitable for packing even sensitive and heavy goods for transport.

PacMaster XL – up to 10m³ of free packaging material per hour

The special design of PacMaster XL enables fast and efficient work with

one or two operators: first cardboardis cut to size and transported to the

intermediate table. From there they run through the cutting mechanism that

transforms them depending on the application into flat mats (for wrapping of goods) or into

bulky mats (for stuffing of boxes). Alternatively,cardboard can be cut to the required width and converted

to stuffing mats simultaneously on the mat shredder.

Where dust is a factor.Dust particles created by the process are eliminated inside the machine by a special system of scrapers and deflectors.Optional: A retro-fit kit permits the connection of a commercially available industrial vacuum cleaner.

Space-filling material on demand.The patented unique cutting system transforms cartons into bulky, impact-absorbing packing material. Depending upon how flexible you want your packing material to be, up to 3 layers of cardboard can be processed simultaneously.

*VS / Vario-Speed – Electronically controlled power demand. Vario-Speed automatically adjusts the operating speed to the current machine workload.Thin cardboard: The operating speed can be increased by up to 50%.Thick cardboard: The speed is decreased to provide more power.
