Why a movie project?
• Aligned with district requirements
• Students can understand:• how to make static text multi dimensional• perspective and that there can be more than
one• apply those skills to real life e.g. news • Understand that meaning can be manipulated
through perspective
Steps to my movie project• Step 1: students analyze other movies.• Step 2: Students select a myth, legend, fairytale
from around the world.• Step 3: students analyze scripts and then write
their own.• Step 4: students shoot/create their movies.• Step 5: students edit their movies • Step 6: students promote their movies• Step 7: students view movies produced by others
and nominate for Academy Awards• Step 8: teacher hosts Academy Awards
I’m not good with technology so how do I teach them to make and edit movies?
• See technology as a storytelling tool, not as a teaching goal.
• Students probably know more about technology
