Recent Builds

This autumn in Everton, Wheelscape celebrated the opening of the UK’s first glow in the dark Skatepark in collaboration with leading contemporary international artist; Koo Jeong-A. The ‘Evertro’ Project has since received International media coverage from reports in the Guardian to write ups in Vice magazines; Creators Project.

West Swindon has recently enjoyed the opening of a plaza style skatepark, packed with a range of coloured street features, from wallie bars to wall rides.

A recent sunny Saturday saw Wheelscape open Hampson skatepark, Stevenage. A diverse skatepark design with a variety of free-flowing transition and street based features. The day was well attended by local residents, the mayor and riders alike.

Another opening day event in Liverpool; Otterspool skatepark was launched to huge success. Designed to incorporate the existing tree, it’s wide range of transition and banks sit snuggly into the surrounding landscape and link into a skateable social area complemented with contemporary street furniture.

Design

Wheelscape’s designers are here to assist and deliver a wide range of services, from feasibility studies, drainage designs and landscape plans to mention just a few. With community led consultation at the heart of our design process, Wheelscape work hard to ensure all involved parties are listened to and supported.

We strive to be as economical and efficient as possible, allowing us to design sustainably without limitations to what we can create. Our experienced design team includes Architects, Designers, engineers and artists who are all keen skatepark users themselves.

We work closely with you to provide initial sketch ideas, 3D models, photorealistic visualisations and full construction drawings allowing you to see that what is designed is what is built.

International Builds

Designing and building abroad has given Wheelscape the opportunity to work in partnership with local companies from diverse locations. We have learnt and gained valuable knowledge from these experiences which has further developed our skills and understanding. This is something we hope to do again in the future and look forward to bringing Wheelscape skateparks design, build or both to more countries around the world.

Construction

Specialist concrete shaping, metalwork, formwork and finishing have led to us creating some of the most well received skateparks by clients and users alike. Our in house teams combine skatepark users with construction backgrounds and experienced concrete professionals to create 3 specialised teams.

Our long serving staff work year round on a range of challenging designs and differing sites. Working from the green hills of the Shetland, to the humid conditions of central Doha, has developed our ability to deliver even the most demanding of projects to the highest standards.

Added Value

Wheelscape bring added value to every skatepark project. We can provide a number of additional opportunities; site visits/open days, an official opening day, promotional material and magazine/online coverage as well as tutorials.

Many skatepark users are very passionate about they’re discipline and would love the opportunity to work within about the industry. Site visits provide local users with an insight into the construction process of a skatepark.

We work alongside local councils/user groups to organise an official opening day which consists of demonstrations, competitions or ‘jams’ and provide an opportunity for photographs/video of local users.

With many links to skateboarding/BMX/Scooter magazines, we have had many of our parks feature within these giving great promotion to the facility and encouraging users to visit the local area.

Wheelscape also have a close working relationship with organisations such as ‘Sk8Safe’ that visit skateparks around the country and educate users on how to safely use the facilities.
