General Information

Payment Terms and ConditionsWe are not at all interested in carrying past due accounts, therefore our credit policies provide only for payment by credit card.

Per Order Credit Card AccountThis account applies to all new accounts, as well as those who spend $5,000 or less on an annual basis. A charge is made to your Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover at the time your order is billed and shipped. A receipt will print as part of the order’s invoice, which will also be included with the shipment. All declines will delay shipment of the order until a valid credit card is charged.

Weekly Credit Card AccountThis account is for those who exceed approximately $5,000 annually. A statement of the account’s activity is produced each Monday for all orders shipped through the end of the business day on Friday with an automatic charge to your Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover each Friday for that week’s orders. All declines may cause the suspension of shipping of orders and/or the withdrawal of weekly charge privileges.

In-Lab TimesThe seasonal nature of our business and special problems with some orders cause in lab time to vary from time to time. Take these variables into consideration when promising your customers their orders. Please give them arealisticdateforyourfinaldelivery.

Rush ServiceWe offer a 100% rush for same day service for all orders including those with artwork, color correction and/or finishingservices.Theminimumorderforrushserviceis$24.00. Due to time of day, seasonal volume and other variables, we may not be able to guarantee a ship today status even with a rush charge.

Hours of OperationCustomer service is available Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM Central Time. Additional hours and days may be added during the peak seasons as needed. Ourproductionfacilityoperates24hoursaday,7daysa week for most of the year. Please keep this in mind, as orders can move past the point of being changed or cancelled at all hours of the day.

Order Cancellations and ChangesOurproductionfacilityoperates24hoursaday,7daysaweek for most of the year. With our automated production system, orders can very quickly move past the point of cancellationormodificationatallhoursof theday.Allcancellation or change requests must be made online through our order tracking system. Please double check your orders for accuracy before submission.

RemakesIf there is an error in or damage to your order please call a customer service representative so the order may be corrected and/or replaced. Please have the order number ready to give to the representative. Remakes will onlybedoneforthesamefinishingservicesandfromtheoriginalfilessubmittedintheoriginalorder.Ifyouwishtomakemodifications to thefilesor services, youwillneed to place a new order at your cost. Remake orders will be shipped the same method as the original order. Saturday delivery is available for $15.

Shipping DamageIf you receive a shipment that appears damaged, do not refuse the shipment, but immediately inspect the contents and contact us to get a remake order started. Wewillfilethenecessaryclaimwiththeshippingcarrier.Shipping damage is outside our control, and we are only responsible for replacing the product on our normal production time line with our standard shipping methods. You are responsible for any rush charges or expedited freight expense on shipping damage remakes.

General Information

Refunds Wereservetherighttoremakeanyproductaclientfindsunsatisfactory or at our discretion issue credit to an account in lieu of making a refund. A credit will be made as credit on your WHCC account, not as a credit back to your credit card.

Minimum Order ChargesWe have a minimum charge of $12.00 on most orders. Orders may not be combined to prevent a minimumorder charge. Each and every order form and number will stand on its own.

PaperWe use only Kodak Professional Endura Papers for all photographic printing. We offer three surfaces, Lustre, Glossy and Metallic. Not all surfaces are available on all products.

Trimming Mounted and Unmounted PrintsOrdersrequestingtrimmingofthefinalproducttoasizenot offered can be accommodated with a $1.00 per cut per print trimming fee. We will not make assumptions and orders that are received untrimmed will not be remade if trimmingwasnotrequested.Customsizedmasonitewillrequire a $10 masonite trim charge.

Print Cropping, Borders and SizesWe use the latest, most state-of-the-art digital photographic printers and printing presses. They are, however, still machines and all have tolerances in how they move paper during the printing process. To prevent thin white lines from appearing on your prints, every image is slightly enlarged when printed onto the paper. This means you will lose a little of your image around the edges. The amount and location lost will vary from machine to machine and over time, so we recommend you keep all important parts of your picture (heads, feet, text, borders, etc) at least 1/4” from the edge.

Size of Prints and Mounting SubstratesDue to variances and tolerances in paper widths and printsizes,mostofourmountboardslargerthan8x10areslightlyundersized.Anyproductwithinalengthand/orwidthwithin1/8”ofthepublishedsizeiswithinourpaper and substrate tolerances and will not be remade.

Shipping and DeliveryUnless otherwise noted, all orders in the lower 48 states are shipped for delivery by UPS in two business days for noadditionalcost.APO/FPOshipmentsareavailablebyUSPS Priority Mail at no additional cost.

Expedited ShippingUnless otherwise noted, overnight upgrades are an additional $3 plus 12% of order cost for Saver (delivery with your normal UPS shipment), or an additional $6 plus 18% for morning overnight delivery. Overnight Saver is not available in allareas and you will be billed for morning overnight in this case. Saturday delivery is available for $15 and requires the purchase of morning overnight delivery.

Drop ShippingIf you are having your order shipped to any address otherthantheaddressonfileforyouraccount,youwill be charged a drop ship fee of $7.50. The entire order must be drop shipped, we cannot split orders and ship to more than one address. This basic drop ship is for the lowest cost shipping service, which will be USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground. Your invoice will not be included in the drop shipped package. A dropshipbyTwoDayAirshippingis$9.50.Overnightshipping is available for $7.50 plus the applicable overnight shipping charges. International drop ships are available for $7.50 plus actual freight or postage costs.

International ShippingShipping outside the United States is available by Priority Mail International and/or Express Mail International by the US Postal Service. Priority Mail International has a service time of 6-10 days, and Express Mail International 3-5 days. Both services offer online tracking. Clients are responsible for 100% of the actual postage cost for each package. Under no circumstances is WHCC responsible for postage or freight on international shipments.

• Wallets are 2.5x3.5 inches and are printed 8-up on a sheet.

• Wallet units are die cut for rounded corners. Wallets are delivered as an 8-up sheet and will need to be punched out.

• Foil stamping for wallets is not available. We suggestyouusePhotoshoptoaddtexttoafile.

Photographic Prints


• All photographic prints have the filename on theback of the print.

• Lustre, glossy or metallic papers cannot be combined within an order.

• Prints are created with printers that expose light sensitive paper that is then run through a chemical process. These are real photographs, not inkjet prints.

Corrective ServicesBasic retouching, artwork, and file color correctionservices are available. Basic retouching removes slight skin imperfections such as blemishes. Basic retouching canbeorderedperfile.

Artwork is quoted for projects such as extensive retouching, head swaps, and background adjustments. Artwork can be ordered per file. Please allow foradditional time for this service.

Perfilecolorcorrectionisavailable.Wecolorcorrecttheentirefileforbalancedskintoneswithoutcausingblownout or color casted highlights. When ordering color correction,allfilesintheorderwillbecolorcorrected.

Basic retouching, artwork, and color correction orders can be archived to CD. Corrective Services are not required to order an archive CD. Drop shipping is not available when archive to CD is ordered.

Make your image look like a piece of art with traditional canvas ordered loose, on masonite, or stretched over a frame. For a more contemporary mounting option, order your prints on Standout.Withitsthick,lightweight,finishedblackedges,Standoutarrivesreadytohangrightonthewallwithoutaframe.

Weofferavarietyofmountingsubstratestosatisfywhateveryourfinishingneedsmaybeforanyorder.

MatboardA heavyweight, dry mount board provides mounting at an economicalprice.Duetothenatureoffiberbasedboard,somewarping will occur, therefore we do not offer sizeslarger than 16x20. Styrene board is a wonderful replacement forMatboardwhenitcomestolargerprintsizes.

StyreneStyrene is a plastic mounting board 2mm thick. Standard color iswhite.Wefindthistobeoneofthebestmountingsubstratesavailable and are pleased to offer it at very economical prices.

FoamboardFoamboard is 1/4” thick foam-centered board coated with a tough white plastic shell.

MasoniteStandard 1/8” hardboard masonite. This traditional mounting surface provides a heavy duty, rigid, hard and long lasting substrate. Perfect for the high-end market.

CanvasTraditional canvas is created by peeling the emulsion of a photographic print and bonding it to canvas. It can be ordered loose or mounted on Masonite or a stretcher frame. Lamination is available for traditional canvas. The laminate protects the canvas from scuffs and scratches as well as provides UV protection. Matte and Semi Gloss Laminates are available. We also offer a Gallery Wrapped canvas product, for more information look on the Fine Art Gallery Wrap page.

StandoutStandoutisathicklightweightboardfinishedwithablackplastic edge and comes ready to display with hanging holes on the backside. The finished edge prevents usfrom trimming the board to any custom sizes. Standoutis available in two depths, 3/4” and 1-1/2”, and nothing extra needs to be done to prepare for display. 3/4” board dimensions are undersized by 1/4”, and 1-1/2” is 1/2”undersized.Pleasenote,deliverytimescanbelongerthannormal with this product.

Textures & Coating1-3 days service time

WHCC offers a lustre coating and three textures that provide extra protection to your photographic prints. This lustre coating not only protects, but will also give your prints a more matte look versus an uncoated print. For other ways to enhance photographic prints choose from linen, pebble or embassy textures. These textures also help to prevent clients from scanning your images.

Lustre Coating - Our environmentally safe, water basedcoating provides protection and a slightly matte appearance to your prints.

Machine Textures - We offer three textures on prints up to 24x30insize.Theseareembossedtexturesthatcanadddramatically to your images.

Linen-Ourmostpopulartexture,itisperfectforbothsmaller and larger prints.Pebble - A medium to heavy pebble texture, this surfaceworksverywellforlargerprintssizes.Embassy - This surface is a combination of the linen and pebble textures resulting in a unique and upscale appearance to your prints.

We have three primary methods of receiving orders. Two are software based solutions that allow you to do most of the work directly within the software. Flexible, intuitive and easy to get around, both ROES.whcc and LabPrints let you quickly and easily put together orders for us.

Eachphotographerhasaworkflowtheyuse,andROES.whccorLabPrintsmayfitinthatfloworitmaynot.OurFTPmethodisforthosewhohavespecificworkflowrequirementsandareverycomfortablewithfilemanagement,FTPandPhotoshop.Nospecificprintorderingsoftwareisneeded.

Color Management

WhensendingfilestoWHCC,itisimportantthateachfilehasavalidICCprofileembedded.Withoutthisprofile,wedo not knowwhat colorspace your files are in.Most photographers use either sRGBor AdobeRGB (1998) as aworkingcolorspace.

Follow the directions below to properly setup your Photoshop Color Settings.

•OpenPhotoshop

•MacOSXusers-GotoPhotoshopintheMenuBar>ColorSettings

•Windows-GotoEditintheMenuBar>ColorSettings

• SelectaWorkingSpaceforRGBFiles.YoushouldselecteithersRGBIEC61966-2.1orAdobeRGB(1998).Ifyouareunsure, you probably want sRGB IEC61966-2.1.

• Select“ConverttoWorkingRGB”nexttoRGBunderColorManagementPolicies.

• CheckAskWhenOpeningandAskWhenPastingnexttoProfileMismatches

Wheneveryouopenafilesavedandtaggedinacolorspaceotherthanyourworkingspace,Photoshopwillpromptyoutoconverttotheworkingcolorspace.IfyouwouldratherhavePhotoshopdothisautomaticallyforeveryfile,you can uncheck these boxes.

• UncheckAskWhenOpeningnexttoMissingProfiles

Photoshopwillassumeeveryfilenottaggedwithacolorspaceisinyourworkingspace.

WhenyousaveyourJPEGsoutofPhotoshop,makesuretocheckthe“EmbedColorProfile”checkboxintheSavedialogbox.Withoutthischecked,wedonotknowthecolorspaceofyourfiles,andyouwillhaveunpredictablecolorin your prints.


Color Management

Havingyourfilesinthecorrectworkingspaceisonlyoneimportantpartofacolormanagementsystem.Youneedtohaveaproperlycalibratedandprofiledmonitortoinsurethatthecolorsonyourmonitormatchthecolorsintheprintsyoureceivefrom WHCC.

Theeasiest,mostefficientandmostaccuratewaytocalibrateandprofileyourmonitoriswithahardwaremonitorcalibrationdevice. We use and recommend the i1Display 2 by Xrite.

This device actually attaches to the front of your monitor and reads color patches displayed by the software. Using these readings,thesoftwareremovesanycolorcastfromyourscreen,helpsoptimizethebrightness/contrast/coloroutputandcreatesaprofiledescribinghowyourmonitordisplayscolor.Photoshopthenusesthisprofilewhendisplayingimagestogive you the most accurate color display possible.

We strongly recommend the purchase of a hardware calibration device. It is an investment of a couple hundred dollars, but it is the only way to get the best monitor to print match.

You should set your target Whitepoint and Gamma curve to 6500k and Gamma 2.2. These, however, are only recommendations,youmayfindthatyourviewingenvironmenthaswarmerlights,inwhichcaseyoucouldexperiment with a Whitepoint of 5000k.
