It’s official, Fall 2012 is here and our new class is eager to join in on the Cardinal fun! Students, faculty and staff all volunteered to greet our freshman who took over campus on Move In day. The fun didn’t stop there. Campus Life held a mid-day BBQ that had everyone talking! Free food and refreshments and lemonade from our Pink Ladies, Delta Beta Chi.The evening ended with our traditional Pinning Ceremony and
the welcoming message by President Agnese. BIG THANK YOUs to all our volunteers. Welcome Back Cardinals!!!

Healthlink Rehabilitation & Fitness Center is seeking student volunteers to fill 2 to 3, 2 hour shifts per week.Facility houses a full service rehabilitation center as well as a full fitness center and pool. Do you have a bunch of stuff that you don't need anymore and wish it was easy to sell it all to incoming freshmen on move-in day? Now it is! We've partnered with the Residential Life offices at Trinity, Incarnate Word and Our Lady of the Lake so that 100% of all freshmen will know about doUdeal the second they move into their dorm. That means thousands of freshmen will be heading to doUdeal to find great deals on things like textbooks, furniture and electronics. So if you have stuff you want to get rid of (or cash you need to make), now is the time to post! Freshmen start moving in on Thursday, August 16th!
The gentlemen of Kappa Sigma Fraternity were recognized in their Summer 2012 fraternal magazine as one of the 2011-2012 new chapters of the organization. UIW was added to the Kappa Sigma national roster as the Rho Upsilon Chapter. In addition, the men of KappaSig were also commended for their successful fundraising efforts. Rho-Upsilon chapter held their first annual KS Golf Classic and raised $2500. Participants included many sponsors such as the Xi-Delta Chapter of Kappa Sigma from UTSA, Delta Beta Chi sorority, Delta Xi Nu Multicultural Sorority, Inc. and local family businesses. Congratulations Kappa Sigma! Keep living up to the values of a true Greek gentleman!

The road to success is always under constructionBe patient. Stay informed. Give yourself extra time to arrive at your destination.!Various city and university construction projects are planned both on and around main campus for the next 18 months. Several of those projects have already begun. This work will affect roadways and entrances to the University of the Incarnate Word’s main campus. Our goal is to keep everyone informed so you may plan your route accordingly. We encourage you to refer to the construction update tab on the bottom of the UIW main page (Scroll to the bottom of the page. In the bottom black box you will notice the top line reads: Campus Status: Normal • Campus Emergency Information • Construction Updates.) This information will be updated regularly and will include a map indicating detours as necessary.
