Collect for 4th Sunday of Lent

Merciful Lord, absolve your people from their offences, that through your

bountiful goodness we may all be delivered from the chains of those sins

which by our frailty we have committed; grant this, heavenly Father, for Jesus

Christ’s sake, our blessed Lord and Saviour, who is alive and reigns with you,

in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

Post Communion for 4th Sunday of Lent

Luke 2. 33-35 33The child’s father and mother were amazed at what was being said about

Jesus. 34Then Simeon blessed them and said to his mother Mary, ‘This child is

destined for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that

will be opposed 35so that the inner thoughts of many will be revealed - and a

sword will pierce your own soul too.’

LENT COURSE CONTINUES...The theme of this year’s Lent Course is “The

Beatitudes” from the Pilgrim Course. The pattern for Lent 2018 is then as follows: All

Volunteering Opportunity: Springfield Mind Dementia Wellbeing Cafe offers a welcoming and friendly place where people living with dementia can enjoy a variety of activities such as singing, arts and crafts and talks on a variety of subjects. Our cafe, which meets each Saturday morning at the Methodist Church, Stratford Old Town is growing in numbers, and in need of more volunteers. If you are able to help by offering a couple of Saturday mornings each month, please give Tracey Brisband a ring on 01527 893029

Prayer Focus:

We pray for our new PCCs as they start meeting. We pray that their work will be

fruitful and appreciated.

We pray for those who have mobility issues. We pray that they will not feel too

isolated. We also pray and give thanks for those who help and we pray for better public

transport for the disabled.

International Women’s Day was the 8 March and we celebrate the contribution of all

women in our society. We pray for gender equality, for equal pay, for equal rights, for

equal everything. We applaud the women in Spain as they went on strike to demonstrate

the importance of gender equality.

We pray that those behind the attack on Segei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia will be caught. That if the attack was state sponsored we pray that the UK Government will make a measured though appropriate response.
