Dear Members,Happy New Year! I am proud to announce that late last year your Club was recognised with a prestigious Clubs & Community Award celebrating our ongoing work with Karonga School. Congratulations to Peter Saez and the entire team for their commitment to this project, it is a true testament to what has been achieved. Please see more about this wonderful project below.Following on, it is also worth noting that the Club Grants program opens for 2020 applications in March, please see the Club’s website for more information on this fabulous program. If you are involved with a community organisation, school, charity or sporting club please do look into this. The next months are jam-packed with exciting events, promotions and competitions. From Seniors Week to The Killer Queen Experience tribute show, Australia Day to Chinese New Year there are endless opportunities to have a great time at your Club.

At this time I also wish to advise that Mrs Kirsten Baker has been appointed by the Board of the Club, as a Director, to fill the position vacated by Mr John Donohoe. Kirsten was previously on the Board of the Club for 12 years and is a Life Member. We welcome Kirsten back and wish her every success in her new role with us. Your Club Wins Prestigious Accolade for Community Contribution

Your Club is proud to announce it is the 2019 recipient of the Clubs and Community Award. Following the completion of our Karonga Schools multi sports courts upgrade we have been recognised for the success of this project. The Clubs and Community Awards are a state-wide initiative, celebrating the meaningful impacts of Clubs within their local area. Launched over a decade ago the awards aim to share the stories and recognise the outstanding contributions made by registered clubs. In 2018, Karonga School was selected to be your Club’s largest single benefactor under the ClubGrants Program. This partnership enabled the upgrade of the schools court facilities. With a new surface, line markings, fencing and access pathways the improvements make participation in sport and physical activity more accessible to the students as well as ensuring safer and easier play. Principal Mark Gosbell commented of the award, ‘We are thrilled with the new facilities and truly cannot measure the benefits this will bring to the students of Karonga both now and in the future. This is a true example of a Club making lasting impacts in their wider community. We are delighted to see The Epping Club receive this award; it is more than well deserved.’

Farewell Max Falconer MBE

We acknowledge the outstanding contribution of Club Director Max Falconer MBE, who retired from the board in September 2019. Max has been a member of The Epping Club for 48 years and served as a Director for 18 years. He is a Life Member of The Epping Club, RSL of Australia and Epping RSL sub-Branch. We thank Max for his dedication and passionate contribution to your Club, his commercial acumen, vision and his great sense of humour will be missed. We wish Max and Gwenda all the best.

Anzac Day Dawn Service Saturday 25 April from 6am The Anzac Dawn Service will commence at 6am at the Cenotaph in Forest Park (off Blaxland Road) Epping. All veterans who would like to parade, please form up in Forest Park at the entrance from Blaxland Road at 5:45am to then march together.
