General Usability Improvements

Toolbar and Menu Improvements

• Undo/Redo

• All diagram and model edits can be undone

• Validate button added to toolbar

ModelBuilder Usability Improvements

• Model Element tool tips

ModelBuilder Usability Improvements

• Simplified connector popup

• Displays possible parameters and environment settings

Script Tools

• Python Script tools can now embed the script

• Makes it easier to share script tools

• All you need is the toolbox

• Previously, you needed the toolbox plus the script.

Background Processing and ModelBuilder

• Model and Script tools run in the foreground by default.

• Background Processing can be enabled in your Model Properties

Model Only Tools

Model Iterators

• Iterators

• Runs the entire model a number of times based on the properties of the iterator.

• Only one allowed per model

> You can nest models to combine iterators

ModelBuilder Iterators

• For For a fixed number of times

• While Until a condition is true or false

• Features Selection For each feature in a feature class

• Row Selection For each row in a table

• Field Value For each field value in a table

• Multivalue For each value supplied by user

• Datasets For each dataset in a workspace

• Feature Classes For each feature class in a workspace

• Files For each file in a folder

• Rasters For each raster in a workspace

• Tables For each table in a workspace

• Workspaces For each workspace in a folder

ModelBuilder Iterators

•For

• Replaces “Run the model the following

number of times.”

•While

• Replaces “Run the model until this variable is

false.”

•Iterate Multi-Value

• Replaces Series and Lists

• Creates a variable of the data

• Uses that as input to iterate the Multivalue

tool.
