Home screen

When logging in each morning, teachers will access the newly designed home screen. From here, teachers see a snapshot of student performance by period. They can view Solo completion, quickly link to reporting on student writing and other activities, and see which students are struggling with writing and need written feedback. By clicking on the image under “Return to curriculum,” teachers can quickly and easily return to where they left off the day before.

reporting: Embedded Assessment measures (EAm)

For Flex Day planning, Amplify ELA provides reporting that informs teachers of student performance on three main skill strands: language, reading, and writing. Measurement of these skills is generated by student activities in the core digital curriculum and aggregates all available data points. These include: reading comprehension scores, automated writing evaluation scores (including grammar conventions), and scores from vocabulary activities. This data is processed in a report made available to teachers at regular intervals, providing a student grouping profile for use in planning Flex Day activities.

classwork

What you know as Gradebook has been redesigned and reimagined as Classwork! Classwork boasts improved design and streamlined capabilities, and is now easily accessible from the home screen. Providing feedback on your students' work has never been easier—you can now review their writing and multiple choice answers and easily add scores and comments (and even emoji!) all in one place, allowing you to give your students the immediate feedback they need to further develop their literacy skills.

Hand in

We've made submitting work much easier and more intuitive for students by enhancing the submission controls and moving them to the bottom of the screen. As students scroll down to finish a task, they will see options to advance to the next card, to hand in their work, or to advance to the next activity. They will also have a better understanding of their progress and be able to easily see which cards have been skipped through the numbered navigation.

One time I was on a family vacation and we were driving to Idaho to visit my grandparents. I was bored looking out the

window because we were driving for a long time but then we heard a weird sound and realized that my mom’s minivan

had a flat tire! Luckily, my mom knew how to change the tire and she showed me and my brother Alberto how to do it

too!

I didn’t know how to change a tire before but I did something new that day! After fixing the tire we were back on our

way and we got to my grandparent’s house just in time for dinner!

Write about one moment when you saw or did something new or unexpected.
