Also, thank you to our anonymous donors. We appreciate your continued

What happens when you can't run any further from

your past?

Ohio, 1838. James and Sadie Goodenough have

settled in the Black Swamp, planting apple trees

to claim the land as their own. Life is harsh in the

swamp, and as fever picks off their children, husband

and wife take solace in separate comforts. Their fighting takes its toll

on all of the Goodenoughs - a battle that will resonate over the years

and across America.

Fifteen years later their youngest son, Robert, is drifting through Gold

Rush California. He is haunted by the broken family he fled years earlier,

but when he finds steady work for a plant collector, peace seems finally to

be within reach. But the past is never really past, and one day Robert is

forced to confront the reason he left behind everything he loved.

Discussion will be held Tuesday, December 19 at 12:30 p.m.

Silver & Fit and Silver Sneakers Reminder

2016-17 Wrap-Up

I'm pleased to report that our 2016-17 Annual

Report has been completed. And, as we enter our nd32 year of operation, we have, once again, seen an

increase in the number of individuals served and

the number and types of programming offered.

Another important milestone was that our largest

age group that we are now serving is the 65-69 year

olds. This was a goal that was set in place when the

organization moved to its current location on the

school campus. We are extremely pleased that the

organization was able to attract those younger

seniors through the diversification of our

programming including the introductory tap

dance, yoga, T'ai Chi Chih, and technology classes.

A copy of the 2016-17 Annual Report is available on

the website at www.windyhillonthecampus.org or

paper copies are available at the reception desk

upon request. We look forward to another

successful year of providing quality programs and

services to the older adults in our community. We

are especially grateful to the organizations and

individuals who continue to support Windy Hill, and

enable us to accomplish our mission.

Holocaust Survivor, Ballroom Dancer, Author, and Motivational Speaker, Ms. Isaacson will discuss Be The Best You Can Be From The Inside Out At Any Age on Thursday, December 14, at 10:30 a.m. She will emphasize focusing on a positive attitude in all situations, healthy eating habits for maximum energy all day, good posture, and aiming toward a beautiful future with every birthday. Senior? – if you think you have reached the last gas station in your life, it's time to refuel and keep moving on! Widowed? – a new, interesting and productive life can be yours now that you are one instead of two… just different! Ms. Isaacson has spoken before at Windy Hill and is a member favorite. Please register for lunch no later than December 12, if you plan to attend her Program.

Lunch & Learn featuring Eleanor Isaacson -

We would like to take this opportunity to wish each

one of you a very Merry Christmas. It is a pleasure

to work with everyone throughout the year. We

wish you and your families an enjoyable holiday and

happy and healthy New Year!

Merry Christmas to our Members!

Lunch is served Monday through Friday at 12:00 Noon. The cost for the lunch for seniors 60 and older is by

donation (recommended donation is $2.00). Those 59 and younger pay $3.75. Windy Hill receives

funding through the York County Area Agency on Aging solely based on the members who join us for

lunch each day. Please consider signing up for lunch so that we can be compensated by the Agency on

Aging and, thus, support the daily operation of Windy Hill on the Campus. Please be advised that lunch

reservations must to be made on the Copilot by 9:30 a.m. the day before you desire to eat lunch. Please

remember to cancel your lunch as soon as you realize that you are unable to attend. This will allow us to

offer that lunch to someone who may not have ordered in advance.

you for your patience!

2016-17 Wrap-Up

I'm pleased to report that our 2016-17 Annual

Report has been completed. And, as we enter our nd32 year of operation, we have, once again, seen an

increase in the number of individuals served and

the number and types of programming offered.

Another important milestone was that our largest

age group that we are now serving is the 65-69 year

olds. This was a goal that was set in place when the

organization moved to its current location on the

school campus. We are extremely pleased that the

organization was able to attract those younger

seniors through the diversification of our

programming including the introductory tap

dance, yoga, T'ai Chi Chih, and technology classes.

A copy of the 2016-17 Annual Report is available on

the website at www.windyhillonthecampus.org or

paper copies are available at the reception desk

upon request. We look forward to another

successful year of providing quality programs and

services to the older adults in our community. We

are especially grateful to the organizations and

individuals who continue to support Windy Hill, and

enable us to accomplish our mission.

Tammy Miller

Executive Director

Windy Hill Lunch Program

On December 13, help us get into the Holiday Spirit

by wearing your “Ugly Holiday Sweater”. If none of

your sweaters are ugly, you are welcome to show off

your most creative, festive, inspirational, etc Holiday

off your Christmas Spirit and creativity!

Let’s Get into the Holiday Spirit

Thank you to all who have contributed so far this

Holiday Season. The campaign runs until Friday, thDecember 15 with boxes in the reception area. The

National Honor Society at the high school is organizing

the campaign and they are asking for your help to reach

their goal. They collect non-perishable food items to

restock the shelves of the Harvest of Hope food pantry

following their holiday break distributions. The goal for

this year is 10,000 pounds of food. Let's help them make

that goal!
