Stitch small designs on to a large piece of fabric before cutting out. This is quicker and less fiddly than working

on smaller pieces of fabric

Make a… pincushionStep 1CUT your stitching and a piece

of backing fabric to 13x10cm.

Step 2PIN your ric rac in place on your

pincushion front, mitering the

corners. Use a hand or machine

tacking stitch to secure.

Step 3PLACE your backing fabric

over the pincushion front and pin.

Machine sew close to the edge.

Be sure to leave an opening for

turning. Turn right side out, fi ll

with stuffi ng and slip stitch closed.
