What’s On in the Summer Term 2016

Learning through play is vital to a child’s development and

Jumping Clay provides the perfect hands-on learning tool at these ‘Hungry Caterpillar’ themed workshops. Children will be

encouraged to bring their imagination to life, and will create their own clay characters to take home.

Suitable for children aged 3—5 years.

We have lots of new and exciting activities going on in the Summer term, please turn to pages 6 and 7 for full details of when and where they are running or see our full activity timetable on pages 4 and 5.

Baby Sign—Mini Me Time Using songs, music and rhymes enhances the development of

language, literacy and numeracy, socialisation as well as being fun for

both parents and babies. Research shows that signing

babies have a tendency to have a greater interest in books, increased

early vocabulary and improved literacy. Suitable for children

aged 6 months—2 years

Baby Yoga—Mini Me Time An opportunity to enjoy yoga with your baby through movement,

rhyme, sound and massage. Meet likeminded mums with babies at a similar age. Baby Yoga promotes more and better sleep and regular movement promotes a more ‘settled’ behavior with less

extreme ups and downs. Suitable for children aged 6 months—2years.

What’s On in the Summer Term 2016

Baby Rave A fun packed energetic 3 week course which combines good music, a party like atmosphere and creative play to entertain

your baby. Week 1 - Introduction to the "rave", Week 2 - Crafts and story telling, Week 3 - Rave with fancy dress and soft play.

Suitable for children aged 0– 5 years.

Training Courses for adults

Food Safety This 3 week course teaches you the

important factors that need to be considered when preparing and serving food, including hygiene, contamination and food hazards. You will receive a certificate on

completion and this course can help when you are applying for jobs.

Crèche available, booking essential.

Volunteering and Careers Information

Sessions Lal Duncan will lead these sessions to talk about CV writing, the benefits of volunteering and how to move closer to paid work. There will be time for questions and Lal can signpost and offer parents contacts in the education, training and self-employment sectors. Lal can also offer one to one employment skills support at a pace that suits each individual. Parents can be referred for this support by any member of staff. Booking essential.

Paediatric First Aid This 6 week course will provide you with knowledge and practical skills

on how to give first aid/assistance to babies or young children and deal

with minor illnesses. Crèche available, booking essential.
