What’s New in GuestPoint® 7.0 

Version 7 Overview GuestPoint® continues to grow and we are proud to release GuestPoint® Version 7.  

GuestPoint® Version 7 contains many exciting new features and enhancements. Many new features 

are driven by terrific suggestions we have received from our valued customers, colleagues and from 

monitoring industry trends.  

We have endeavoured to include as many new features as possible and we still have many great 

ideas that could not be included in this release, which we hope to include in the next GuestPoint® 

update.

Nightly Rates Do you need to know quickly how much you are selling a room for in the future? Now you can. 

We’ve updated the Nightly Rates View to now display the rates for unsold rooms.

 

Competitors Intel A new way to view competitors rates from any site including your competitor’s direct website or any 

OTA’s.

Client Portal Access our online training material from any of the main tabs in GuestPoint® at any time. 

 

Just click the link, pop in your password and you’re on your way. 

 

Text Messaging from a Reservation Text messaging is an easy, quick and very convenient way of communicating information relevant to 

your guests and this can now be done directly from a booking.

It might be changed check‐in arrangements, a brief weather or traffic alert, or anything else that’s 

important. The details of the message will, of course, be recorded in the Email and Text Log. 

 

Departure Balance Quite often you may have a guest that has paid a deposit and you might want to know how much 

they will need to pay at the end of their stay; or a guest might extend their stay and again you want 

to know how much they will need to pay upon departure. Now you can easily see this amount in the 

Reservation Header. 

 

Default Room Account Although transferring charges is very easy with GuestPoint® we thought it would be a nice idea to 

help lessen the times you might need to do this by setting the default room account to be 

determined by the Automatic Charges Policy you select. If your charges policy involves a company or 

a group then that account will be presented as the default when you access the Room Account.

Email Logs from the Accounts Tab Have you ever asked yourself or wondered whether an invoice was actually sent to a corporate 

customer? Ask no more, Email Logs have now been extended to the Accounts Tab.  

 Debtor Accounts will now show logs when you email a Debtor Invoice or Statement to your 

corporate clients. You will also have email logs for those that you send from Non‐Residential 

Accounts.

GuestPoint® Premium customers also have an email log for their Gift Cards. 

Filtering and Reporting Enhancements We have added a number of new filtering options and reports within GuestPoint® across various 

tabs. 

From the Customers Tab you can filter by: 

VIP Status 

With or Without Email Address 

 

From the Management Tab you can filter by: 

Tentative Reservations 

No Booking Source  

Tax Exempt (for US properties)

Additional Reservation Reports include: 

Bookings by Company – this report lists bookings that have a company record attached and 

are grouped by company 

Guests Booking Details – this report lists guests contact and bookings details  

The Extras Report can now be filtered by date range so you can run this report and see how many 

extras are required for any date range. 

 

Your Cleaning Schedule will now also show the number of guests due to check‐in, which your 

housekeepers will really appreciate.

From the Dashboard Tab you can now print all of your individual graphs. 

 

From the At‐a‐Glance pop‐up on the Reservations Tab you can print your Next 7 Days and Next 4 

Weeks Occupancy reports.

You can also now print your Inhouse Guests report in guest order or room number order depending 

on your requirements.

Setup Enhancements In GuestPoint® Version 7 we have added a couple of small, but significant, Setup features to 

streamline your use of GuestPoint® and add efficiency to your day. 

To quickly and easily select all of your rates (or inventory) to update in bulk, choose Select All. 

 

 

You can set a default Booking Source in GuestPoint® and this will be automatically selected when 

you make a new booking.

Sometimes you might find some of your staff are selling rooms for less than you would ordinarily 

allow or desire. GuestPoint® Premium customers can now control which GuestPoint® users have the 

ability to decrease the rate to lower than the current Dynamic or Standard rate for a new or existing 

booking. 

 

WebPoint® Enhancements We have enriched the rate callout to draw your potential guests’ attention to important information 

related to the rates you are offering. 

In addition to rate inclusions, your guests can easily see the Minimum Night Stay, Number of Guests 

included and the Maximum Number of Guests. 

This feature will really help to advise your guests, especially if you have dynamic Minimum Night 

Stays.

In GuestPoint® Version 7 you now have the option to change the Bedding Configuration that is 

displayed on the WebPoint® booking page, in case you’d prefer to have a text description.
