Liz McKinney-Brooks of Community Connections will bring our program on Substance Abuse and Safe Medication Disposal.Please enter through the church lobby. All senior adults age 55+ are invited to attend. Saturday Red Cross Blood Drive - Gymnasium - 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Please schedule your appointment at redcrossblood.org or by contacting Jim Nofsinger at (304) 920-0172 if all the appointment times are reserved. Youth LeadersMeeting - Youth Room - 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. View in the app or visit: http://bible.com/events/16684682 YOUTH MISSION CAMP - The Youth Mission Trip scheduled for June 15-19th and the Student Life Camp scheduled for July 13-17th have both been cancelled. In place of both of these activities, the youth will have the opportunity to participate in a Youth Mission Camp the week of July 13-17th. Part of the week will be spent doing camp activities, with the potential for hiking, white water rafting, canoeing, tubing, and rappelling. The rest of the week will be spent helping serve at a VBS in Welch, WV, among other outreach opportunities. Each day students will be dropped off, and each night students will be picked up; we will not stay overnight. Please sign up by contacting Pastor James and paying the $50 deposit by June 15th. Contact Pastor James with any questions. UPDATED YOUTH GROUP SCHEDULE Beginning this week, the youth will resume meeting in the Youth Room at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights. There will be a youth leadersmeeting in the Youth Room on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. WE WILL CONTINUE COLLECTING - themed items each month for OCC. For the month of June, we will be taking clothing and shoes that may be on sale as businesses reopen. The collection container will be out by the bathrooms on Sunday, June 21st, and Sunday, June 28th. If you have any questions, please see Holly Parish, Jim Nofsinger, or Pastor James. OUR JUNE MISSION OFFERING - on June 21st will go to our missionaries David & Donna Jenkins to help them with purchasing food and supplies for families they minister to in the Philippines. These families live in extreme poverty, which has only worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic. ALPINE JUNIOR CAMP - Registration is now open for camp at Alpine for ages 8 to 12. We are still going to camp, but well be doing things a little differently. The NEW dates are July 13th and 14th. It will be a day camp only, so children will travel to camp in the morning and be picked up from the church in the afternoon. JCBC will be the only group there on those days. We will still do many of the fun activities that your kids love. Parents are welcome to attend, and younger children may come with them. Cost is $20 per day (adults are free) and includes travel, lunch, snacks and all activities. To have your questions answered and sign up, please contact Pastor Jason by email at [email protected]. MERCER CHRISTIAN ACADEMY - is seeking to fill the following teaching positions for the 2020-21 school year: K-5, Upper Elementary, and High School Science. If you are interested in applying for one of these positions, please email Mark Patton, Mercer Christian Academy Administrator, at [email protected]. CHILDRENS MINISTRIES - Our Sunday ministries for children: KidsClub, Childrens Church, Childrens Bible Fellowships, and Nursery, will begin again next Sunday, June 14th. Precautions will be taken to ensure your childs safety. Our Wednesday childrens ministries: Nursery, AWANA, Arrows, and Krew, will begin on June 17th at 6:30 p.m. We feel it is important to allow the children the opportunity to finish out the club year and receive their awards. Safety precautions will be taken for these activities as well. These start dates are pending any changes to guidelines for children. Please contact Pastor Jason if you have questions. THE MASTERS OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT - hosted by the Abel Pregnancy Resource Center, will be held Friday, July 17th, 2020. Al Morgan will be organizing the teams from our church. If you are interested in participating in the tournament, or if you don't play golf but would like to help sponsor a team to raise money for the Abel Center, please contact Al at 304-952-8065. POSITION AVAILABLE! - We need to hire a full-time Custodian to replace

Brian Pettrey. We are looking for an individual who is in good health with

training and/or experience in custodial work. The individual must have

sufficient strength to move furniture and operate equipment. It is preferred

that the individual be a member of Johnston Chapel. The basic responsibility

of the Custodian is to maintain a clean facility. If you know anyone who might

be interested, please contact the church office.
