EVERY MOMENT IS UNIQUE. MAKE IT YOUR MOMENT.

Every second, 2.9 million new emails are sent. Every minute, YouTube users upload 100 hours of new video. Ninety-two percent of the world’s data was created in just the past two years, and every day we add 2.5 million terabytes. Information about the world around us is constantly changing. Understanding, adapting to, and identifying opportunity in this rapidly shifting world requires analytics on a scale never before seen. Now is the time for fresh answers that empower you to make the right decisions at the right moment, every moment. Now is the time for Teradata.

ONE GOOD DECISION CAN LEAD TO THOUSANDSWhen you make the right decisions based on reliable information, everything falls into place: customers increase, revenues rise, opportunities emerge, and new efficiencies replace old ones. Teradata helps companies bring vast amounts of data into individual moments of decision through actionable, reliable insights. When you know the right thing to do, you can do more of what truly matters for your business and your customers. Then moments of decision become moments of distinction. It could be a moment that changes the way one customer sees your company, or one that changes the way your company sees the world.

BETTER INSIGHTS LEADTO AMAZING OUTCOMESEvery company wants to make the right decisions—for their customers, their employees and shareholders, and the environment—but what does “right” look like,

and where do you find it? The answer is found in the transactional, operational, behavioral, and customer data that stream into departmental and corporate databases every day. Yet the intelligent enterprise recognizes that, while data hold the answers, analytics unlocks them. As the world leader in analytic data platforms, marketing and analytic applications, and services, Teradata helps the world’s leading companies transform data into insights, which lead to actions that make a difference. By matching customized analytics with real-time business needs, Teradata helps organizations do amazing things:

~ An automobile manufacturer builds safer, more energy-efficient cars.

~ A rail operator increases on-time performance to 98 percent—and saves millions on business overhead and taxes.

~ An Asian Internet brand develops a new system that accelerates response times by 200 to 250 percent.

~ A national air force tracks and ships parts faster so fewer planes stay grounded.

~ A beverage company analyzes the social media buzz from its Super Bowl ads minutes after halftime.

~ A European telecommunications provider increases close rates on their offers by more than 200 percent.

~ A golf club manufacturer gets custom-made clubs into the hands of its customers faster.

~ An international retailer integrates data from more than 30 countries into their analytical environment.

Data can help you identify trends, tell you what your customers really think, and even predict outcomes. When you listen, you stop looking at business as usual and start seeing your business as exceptional. At Teradata, we believe every business has the potential in its data and its people to be exceptional. Our goal is to help you unlock that potential sooner with unique and powerful analytics, and then apply your newfound knowledge in meaningful ways that strengthen your business and improve the lives of those touched by it.

Teradata helps take the fear out of big data, so you see opportunities instead of obstacles. This is a road we’ve travelled many times before, so we know the risks and how to avoid them, the meaningful milestones and how to measure them—and we don’t leave your side until we help you reach your goals. Many of the world’s most successful companies chose Teradata to lead their way to a better understanding of their business and their customers, including:

9 of the top 10 telecommunications companies

10 of the top 10 commercial/savings banks

6 of the top 10 healthcare companies

8 of the top 10 retailers

8 of the top 10 travel/transportation companies

7 of the top 10 manufacturing companies *Based on 2011 Fortune Global Rankings released 7/2012.

TERADATA: A LEGACY OF REMARKABLE MOMENTS

Believing that companies would one day need to analyze terabytes of data, Teradata was started in 1979 over a garage in Brentwood, California. Despite such modest surroundings, it was the company’s forward thinking that would define its future. Today, thousands of customers later, the pursuit of innovation and the quest for better intelligence continue to be the driving forces that move us forward. 1979 Teradata is founded.

1983 Teradata invents the world’s first parallel relational database. The Teradata RDBMS is the first database designed for analytics instead of storage, leading to more insights from data.

1986 Fortune Magazine names Teradata “Product of the Year.”

1989 Teradata introduces the first integrated database machine. Hardware, database, and analytics are available in one simple-to-manage appliance, reducing cost and complexity.

1992 The first one-terabyte system goes live at the world’s leading retailer.

1994 Gartner Group named Teradata the “Leader in Commercial Parallel Processing.”

1997 Teradata introduces event-based marketing. The first of many analytical applications to come, it turns customer lifecycle events into opportunities.

1998 Teradata Database becomes available on Microsoft® Windows® and the company unveils the first application for “in-database” data mining, TeraMiner Stats.

1999 The world’s largest production database is again a Teradata system, measured at 130 terabytes across 176 separate nodes.

2000 Teradata introduces a new customer profitability application that helps companies measure customer and product profitability at a deeper level than previously possible.
