SPARK! programs offer participants an
opportunity to enhance their quality of
life through social engagement, mental
stimulation, and communication.
You should expect to be at the farm for about an
hour and a half. We will gather in our Education
building. Each monthly program will have a theme.
We hope to have a vibrant conversation, but there
is no pressure to talk or “say the right thing.”
This program is as much for care partners as those
living with memory loss. Care partners are
encouraged to actively participate! We strive to
make this experience as welcoming as possible by
adapting the environment to meet physical needs
and making sure everyone is comfortable and safe.
What?
The Clearwater SPARK! programs meets
the 2nd Tuesday of every month from
10:30 am.-12:00 p.m. (noon).
The program is Free of Charge.
For more information please check out
our website and our Facebook page.
Where and When? Who?
Mark your calendars!
SPARK! Is a cultural program for people with
memory loss and their partners. The inception
of SPARK! began with a grant from The Bader
Foundation’s Alzheimer’s and Aging program
aims to make Wisconsin a leader, not just in
how challenges posed by this disease are
addressed, but in how growing older and the
later stages of life are viewed. Through an
emphasis on program development, applied
research, and public policy, the Foundation
strives to offer hope to families struggling
with Alzheimer’s.
What is it?
In 1999, Clearwater Farm was established as a non
profit 501(c)(3) organization to preserve parts of a
19th century Onalaska dairy farm for education,
recreation and history. The farm was operational
until 1998 when it was sold to a developer who was
willing to consider an alternate vision for three of
the 120 acres that had been known for generations
as the Humfeld farm in Green Coulee.
SPARK! meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at
the farm with seniors who have mild to moderate
memory loss and their caregivers, friends and or
family members. SPARK! trained volunteers lead
the time with music, interesting speakers, farm
tours and hands-on art projects. At the end of each
SPARK! program, participants are encouraged to
chat over coffee, fruit, and other snacks before they
leave. It’s a place to create, converse, and connect.
We hope you can join us at the farm!

“Clearwater Farm is one of those rare places
where we can still touch the past and learn
from it. It’s a place for outdoor education,
preservation, recreation.”
