s a r a c o l k e t PHOTOGRAPHY What to WEAR? I get asked this question a lot! I don’t have a lot of rules for this, but I have a few key DOs and DONT’s. 1. DON’T wear a family uniform! The khakis and white shirts look is best left in the 90s. Instead of a uniform, DO be sure you are all dressed to the same level of formality/informality.You don’t want some family members in fancy dresses and others in denim shorts! 2. DON’T wear green or black when possible: Green (especially in the spring and summer) — the grass is green, the leaves are green — we don’t need extra green, especially if the shade clashes with the surroundings. Black — it creates a lot of contrast. However, it is often the most flattering color, so feel free to wear it if you are most comfortable in black. 3. DO pick a great color combination! Take a look at the “families” section of my website to see some awesome examples of what some of my clients have worn. I am a huge fan of shades of blue, gray, cranberry and purple. Start with some dark jeans, add some color in shirts, dresses, scarves, etc. and you’re all set. Just don’t overthink it. As long as you are comfortable and feel good in what you’re wearing, it will work!

What to WEAR?I get asked this question a lot! I don’t have a lot of rules for this, but I have a few key DOs and DONT’s.

1. DON’T wear a family uniform! The khakis and white shirts look is best left in the 90s. Instead of a uniform, DO be sure you are all dressed to the same level of formality/informality. You don’t want some family members in fancy dresses and others in denim shorts!

2. DON’T wear green or black when possible:

Green (especially in the spring and summer) — the grass is green, the leaves are green — we don’t need extra green, especially if the shade clashes with the surroundings.
