A new beginning • “… and there she was again, but this time, she

waived at him with a big smile on her face. He looked back and I said, “This is a good start to a new beginning.””

• After James ruining the “Welcome-back-to-school party,” he finds himself alone with no friends and no one to talk to. After a few months, he met Beth in P.E class.

“Why shouldn’t she be cool with the two of us being friends? Her controlling me? I am tired of her girly self.”

James brakes up with Clare because she was controlling James future. This impacts the story by making James feel more free and do what he needs to do to get into the Fairfield University.

Changes in others

• “...the moment he opened the enveloped, he smiled and said, “I got accepted to Fairfield University…”

• James, a senior, popular, athletic got a letter of acceptance to Fairfield University. This impacts the book by making James more ignorant and conceded. His friends, including Greer and Preston got annoyed and stood away from him.

Future continues• “… just kiss me with no intention of stopping.”• After and amazing movie and dinner night, Alex

and Beth felt in love. The impact it makes in the story was that Alex wasn’t afraid of what the other students thought about him. He stepped out of his box and enjoyed his relationship with Beth.

• “It’s like this sense of mystery has bound them together again.”

• After a fight with Greer, Alex stood up for his brother. This impacts the story by making the two brothers bond/stick together for the rest of the school year.
