Deep genetic libraries for each crop provide the starting point for all of our R&D efforts.

Plant breeders use their discerning eyes to introduce only the best and most promising lines into germplasm libraries.

Every year, we create new genetic lines to provide new solutions to meet farmer needs.

Impeccable pedigree records allow breeders to quickly select genetic lines with the most potential to solve challenges and increase yield.

Across all crops, Pioneer scientists crunch more than 125 billion data points every year.

We put that theory to the test in the real world, where phenotypic data captured through on-farm trials separates the best from the rest.

Millions of computer simulations using proprietary algorithms help determine how products should perform in the field, in theory.

All this data, both in computers and in the field, means we can provide farmers with the right product for their operation.

Breeding technologies like precision phenotyping, molecular markers and doubled haploids have significantly reduced time and improved accuracy.

The combination of all this technology has reduced our development cycle by 30% across all crops, allowing us to bring the best products to farmers faster.

Through predictive analytics, we take contenders and simulate their performance in thousands of virtual growing environments, so only the lines with the most potential get tested in the real world.

Less than 0.01% of contenders make it into a Pioneer bag.

At local test plots conducted by local research staff across the country, contenders undergo rigorous stress tests.

Only the strongest <0.01% of contenders make it into a Pioneer bag.

New tools like advanced phenotyping give precise measurements on how plants are responding in the conditions.

For Pioneer® brand corn products, LumiGEN™ seed treatments are premium recipes that protect elite corn genetics from disease, insects and harmful nematodes to maximize yield potential. They feature:

1 Data is based on a 10-state broad-acre head-to-head strip trial comparing Lumialza™ nematicide seed treatment vs. non-nematicide seed treatment utilizing the same insecticide and fungicide recipe in seed-applied technology replicated strip trial data. Yields ranged from 3 to 9 bu/A depending on nematode species and population in 238 locations.
