Title I, Part A is a federally funded program under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) that provides federal funds to provide supplemental academic support and learning opportunities for K-12 students at schools with high percentages of socioeconomically disadvantaged children to ensure that all children meet state academic achievement standards.
What is Title I?
Feldwood ES received a FY2018 federal allocation of $321,600 to provide additional support for the schoolwide program. Funds must supplement, not supplant, district funds.

One percent (1%) of Feldwood’s total Title I budget is spent on parent involvement activities.

Spring 2017 Milestones results show strong increases among elementary and middle school math
scores, continued upward trend for high school scores ……
School Highlights in End-of-Grade Tests
•Sixteen schools showed 10 or more percentage point increases in the percent of students scoring at the
Proficient Level in both language arts and math:
Grade 3: Brookview Elementary School, Feldwood Elementary School, Lake Forest Elementary School and
Northwood Elementary School
End-of-grade results for Achievement Zone schools varied by grade with grades 3, 4, and 6 showing mostly
increases and grade 5 showing majority increases in math and decreases in English/language arts. Grades 7 and 8
were mixed by subject.
Feldwood Elementary School showed double-digit increases in the percent of students scoring Proficient in both
3rd and 4th grade math.
All Achievement Zone elementary schools showed gains in the percent of students scoring Proficient or
Distinguished in 4th grade math. Feldwood Elementary and Love T. Nolan Elementary showed double-digit gains
in this score group.
Brookview Elementary and Feldwood Elementary showed double-digit gains in the percent of students scoring in
the Proficient or Distinguished groups in 3rd grade English/language arts.

Feldwood’s Goals for 2017-2018
1. 70% of K-2 students will achieve mastery level on Informal Decoding Inventory (IDI) assessment by May 2018. Mastery is defined by 80% for grade level sight words and 60% for nonsense words based on grade level.
2. Increase Proficient or Exemplary Learner on the GA Milestones ELA from 54% to 59% for the 2017-2018 school year.
3. Increase Proficient or Exemplary Learner on the GA Milestones Math from 60% to 65% for the 2017-2018 school year.
4. Increase CCRPI score
