René Magritte• René Magritte was a Belgian
surrealist artist. He became well known for a number of witty and amusing images.
• Surrealism is a cultural movement that began in the early-1920s.
• The works of artists such as Dalí and Magritte often feature the element of SURPRISE.
Your Turn…1. Think of three objects or
animals. 2. Combine them to make a
surprising combination. 3. Draw them in a Magritte style
picture. 4. Paint/colour your picture.

Your Turn…1. Trace around an old CD in
the middle of a piece of paper. Add lines around the circle to turn it into an eye, including eyelashes.
2. Trace all the pencil lines with a black crayon.
3. Draw an image inside the eye which reflects something you like to look at. Remember: the inside of your eye could reflect ANYTHING

1. Draw clouds on the template of the bird and colour it like the sky.
2. Cut out your bird. 3. Stick your bird onto a coloured piece
of paper.
