In Spirited Away, Ponyo and Howl’s moving castle, the main

characters and the people around them are able to transform

into something else. Base on the idea, I designed the book

cover forces readers to read the book from the back to give

western readers to experience the transformation and open

the book from the left to right. The patterns in each book are

related to the story itself and the second layer of each book

also reflects what the story is about.

Flavor WaterL’eau L’EAU means water in French. The design of the package is eco-friendly and

everything is made out of biodegradable material. It is an idea to reduce

the usage of plastic. There is a seed in each bottle of flavored water. After

the water is consumed, the customer can plant the whole package into the

soil and the seed will growth into a plant. The varieties of seed are Lemon,

Peppermint, and Orange and they are inserted in the bottles according to

the flavor of the bottles of water.

Kandi Organic Herbal Tea

The packaging design is for Kandi Organic tea. The design concept is

the idea to play with similar pronunciation from the word “candy”. Use

vibrant color and the twist top to reflect the slight sweetness in the

herbal tea. In each box of Kandi Organic tea, there are 15 packs of tea

bag wrapped individually. The individual tea packaging can be reuse as

a little tray when the tea bag is soaked in the water. Each color of the

packaging also represents the meaning of the three flavors.

NEPALADE + HUE HUE

NepalADE blends the innocence of childhood memories with the rich colorful spirit of a worthwhile cause. With HUE we aspire to shape a campaign that embodies our core of humanity, unity, and empowerment. The campaign creates an awareness through the use of viral campaigning, partner products, and rich vibrant branding which invoke the idea of colors as a means of expression to take away sorrow, sadness, and overall make life itself more colorful.

Nepal AdeRe-branding for Nepal Child Welfare Organization-CWS

This name was chosen to provoke a sense of childhood within many Americans.

The idea stems from a childhood memory of hot sweltering summers and lemonade

stands. Our parents told us that we had to earn our money and learn the worth

of a dollar, a journey of discovering that every little bit counts. Nepal+ade aims to

connect Americans from a grass roots level to Nepal. Ade is the idea of giving a little

bit, as in some change for a refreshing cup of lemonade. As well as sounding like

“aid” as in giving. Together these words infuse the essence of childhood and the rich

colorful spirit of the charity’s cause.

This campaign included viral video, online vira, interactive website, mobile

application and product collaborations. The idea of this project is to educate, unify,

and empower disadvantaged children of Nepal through three steps- awareness,

understanding, and participation

This app would be available through the hue and Nepal

ade website. A user would download it to use as a type of

currency converter. For instance a US dollar amount would be

converted into its equivalent value for Nepalese children. The

app can also scan hue branded products and give information

EXPERIMENTTYPEFACEDESIGN

EXPERIMENTTYPEFACEDESIGN is a lantern typeface design. This assignment was

about to design a typeface that can be made from

anything. I was always interested in furniture and

how they can be made into so many different shapes,

yet functional. So I created my typeface into a

lighting device. It can be displayed as an installation

piece and also be lighted as a lantern.
