What is KiltRO? Why that name?

The KiltRO name came out after a long discussion about the possibility of fusing all the old features ofRagnarok, i.e. before the reborn were released, with some of the newer features. So it represents the mixtureprocess in order to create something new.

In the semantic level this concept is somewhat curious. On one side, in Chile there is a kind of dogs known asquiltros, that are simply street dogs that result from the crossbreeding of different dogs. The main feature ofthese animals is their endurance to harsh environments and illness resistance. So people with thesecharacteristic are often called aperrados, and also refers to a loyal friend.On the other hand, Kilt is the knee-length garment that the traditional Scottish wears, a symbol of pride fortheir warriors, which is similar to the samurais clothing.Thats the meaning of our logo: a dog with a Scottish pattern in the background.

Now, the big question is how to make all these thing fit together, so that they are coherent insidethe game. To achieve this we create a Main Story Line that connects all of our custom features,which allows the player to explore them all. In this story youll find many secrets of the RagnarokOnline history, and some aspects of Nordic Mythology

What are our goals?

The main scheme of the game (the traditional features) allows the player to build his/her character alone, andto get all the equipment without any help.

However, once you max your stats and equipment, you have very little options left and things to do.This is why we wanted to give to the game some twisted turns, so all our custom features are designed forteam playing (parties and guilds). If you still prefer to play alone, dont worry, everything will be there asalways. We want to have fun things to many different game play styles.Well have new challenges for the most experienced players, and also for those who dont know everythingabout the game, or simply dont have the time.Therefore, if you like to play against other people, youll have Woe, PvP, BG, scheduled events (notautomatic), and many other surprises.Also, if you like to try new builds or have a deep knowledge about a particular job, we have designed someextra features that will give a boost to the specialization and varieties of every job build. But this doesnt meanthat a character will become invincible, everything has been tested in order to maintain the balance between

classes, that is, and you can shine with any job. We want you to have fun with your character, as you alwayshave, or try something new.If you like casual playing, or you simply love to collect hats, youll find a great variety of customizationoptions for your character.And lastly if you like roleplaying, we have a bunch of quest, histories and places you can explore and fly yourimagination.

Now, What KiltRO is NOT?

KiltRO is NOTa 100% Ancient Server, we have the conviction that not everything in the past wasbetter than now.We arent an Ancient Server because we have new and old features, but we want to keep thebalance and mechanics of the old Ragnarok Online.

In our road to creating something new, if you can use that word for a 10 years game. What we

did was to put together (what we believe is) the best of different episodes in Ragnarok history.

We dont have reborn or expanded classes (that would overwhelm the 2 jobs); but we do have some maps thatare not Ancient: we have all the Juno Fields (some of which appeared along with Einbroch), Ice Dungeon andThor Volcane (these two are considered new by the old players, but we adapted them for the 2 jobs).Youll find some surprises along some of the maps that you think to know well, because Gravity (the gamedesigners) have hidden some very interesting things, that we rescued for you.So we decided to take some distance from what would be a 100% PureAncient server, in order to offer you amore rich and dynamic environment, with new leveling and farming zones.

We have mob that you may have not seen before, because they didnt havea natural spawn (by Gravity).

Did you ever heard about the Scorpion King? Well, we have our own version.Do you know Mr. Werewolf? Yes, its a big and pink wolf; we have it, with a brand new brain.Did you ever see a Mime Monkey or a Raptice? Well, our environment development teamcreated a jungle just for them.

We hardly believe that you saw something of this before. And If you think thats everything, we have more!A long time ago, a closed beta of Ragnarok Online took place, and even before that, there was an Alphaversion of the game, we are talking about something with more than 14 years.The maps in that version were very different from what we know today, so we retrieved them, and created abrand new world, full of new features for you to discover and explore. We think these maps are a piece ofartwork by Gravity.

So, what we offer to you?

New mobor unused ones (did you ever get a critical hit by a pupa?) New dungeonsfor more leveling and farming options. We wont lie to you; we havecustoms, but is not that bad. You probably noticed how boring RO could

turn, especially in the long term, always the same maps, same events, same mobs and features fromserver to server.

Show yourself to the world! Tired of wearing a piece of dump in your head for WoE? Well, you can stilhave it, but look in a completely different way. With the Costumes, system, you may explore an infinite(well, almost) amount of hats that you can get from events, quest and a special system that wellexplain later.

Metalurgy: Hammers and RocksDid you know that you could make coins in RO? Well, in our server you will, throughour Koins system. With the proper gear (via quest) you may add a chance of gettingores that you can turn into coins later. With these coins you may buy equipmentconsumables and/or costumes. So you can get your equipment without being all theday stuck on the same map, go wherever you want to get your equipment.

Zombie Apocalypse: shoot everything that moves!We know many of you find pleasure on killing what is already dead, or what doesnt wantto die. And the joy of pulling the trigger and blowing up your enemies into pieces withoutmercy.Wait a minute; can you do that in RO? Youd need guns, and of course, we have them!Youll find all of this in our scheduled event Zombie Fortress, whereany job can join, and you may get (if win) a hat that will give you +10%

exp when killing monsters. But be careful, zombies are not as dumb as they look,

and they wont give up so easily.We are developing a Zombie Survivor game, where you have to endure endlesswaves of zombies.

El Castillo del Mob: Can you win to them?We have always played WoE against other humans. It issaid that the players have the best intelligence and reactiontime. We can take the Guardians as an example; they justfollow you around and smash your head.But, how about trying to win a WoE where your enemy is amob with a castle, and you have to conquer it?

Our mob has an extra neuron in their behavior (they arentgenius so you still can win). But they act a little better than

the regular monsters. Battling 1 on 1 with them can be tricky , 2 vs 2 its interesting, but 2 of themagainst you, you better run! Our security department suggests not mobbing them. But enough withtreating them as mob, they are our Warrior Spirits.We have a very special prize for this scheduled event, a hat that looks like Goku (yes, youll look like asuper saiyanjin), this hat will give you +10% atk and defense against demi-human monster. But wheresthe trick? You have to conquer their castle and previously pass some training rooms.

Pecopeco y Grand Peco: the big bird.An important change on the game mechanics is that well have back the config whereplayers mounted on Pecopeco/Grandpeco will change their size to Large. This will givea turn to the strategies, so your ol skeleton worker will become useless against mountedplayers.What will happen to the classic WoE weapons? Well, there is something else

Battleground: Where teamwork is the key.We have all the classic BG Arenas (Flavius, CTF, SC y TD, Tierra, Bossnia, EoS and TI)We have also created two extra game modes that will give you one or more headachewhen thinking how to win. Novice Defense, Jail Breakand Paco-Ladrn.In the first one, as the name says, each team will have Novice that must protect fromtheir enemies, and try to kill their Novice. But be careful, these Novices will not die soeasily.

Jail Break: Lock down your enemies before they do it with you. But watch out for those

who release their team mates from jail.Paco-Ladrn: unleash your killer instinct and stone your enemies with weaponsspecially designed for pain or combat buffs.

And whats the point of playing all these games?Well, first, you may exchange your badges for woe consumables, and packs with itemsfor making potions, acid and grenades. We know its a pain in the ass getting all theitems for a WoE, especially for condensed potions. Here you can use your badgesinstead of farming in the same boring map all night long. You may also buy some hatsfor your customization needs, in case you wish to look like a mighty warrior or a beautiful lady (withsurprise?).Besides, we have BG supplies, so you wont have to worry about expending your precio us WoE

potions while playing BG. This way you can smash your keyboard while using potions, withoutthinking that you wont have enough.What about the BG equipment?We have reprogrammed them from scratch. So anything you previously knew about these weaponswill probably not work here. These weapons were redesigned to be slightly better than the traditionagear, but they can also open some new ways of building your players, i.e. by using exotic builds. Thiswont make you immortal, we take balance very seriously.

Smart Mob: Our pride.We talked about this earlier. The Warrior Spirits arent the only ones that thinkbetter, youll find some new MVPs that dont follow the rule of one hit one kill that

Gravity puts on all their creations. These monsters will not hit you hard, but theywill be hard to kill. We believe that a smart mob is more challenging and more funto kill than something that has nothing but brute force.

PVP Tournament: the cage... well... not exactly.If you think that the solo playing is being dismissed, we have planned somePvP challenges in a 2vs2 format. All the combats will take place on a specialring, where other players can also be spectators.

Endless tower: it has an end.Ahhh! This definitively isnt ancient, right?Dont worry, you wont find Ifrit or beautiful-but-dreadful Valkiries. Youll only find mob that has natural spawn, plus some littlesurprises. But everything has been set in order to be cleared with a 2 job character. Theswords given at the end of the tower cannot be used in WoE. Its intended to give yo umore options for getting equipment and raising your level.

Forbidden ItemsNobody likes cheater players that never die. So we decided to remove the following cards fromWoE: Angeling, Deviling, Ghostring. And the infamous Golden Thief Bug.

Chaos and mayhemm arent always funSome people may like to see Prontera filled with chat and stores. But we preffer to keep a certain orderSo we have a market place where every Merchant may sell their goods. This map isnt ours; it wasmade by Olrox, so thanks to him.

Happy Alchemists and guild mates with potions:One of the worst parts of preparing for WoE is the potion making process. In these kind ofservers you wont have Soul Linkers, so we know how painful making potions can be.

This is why we have an interesting option for those players who wish to make potions fortheir guild. Only for Alchemist, for a small fee, an expert shaman will give you some specia

powers that will allow you to make potions more quickly (Alchemist Spirit).You may ask, what about the Taekwon Class requirement for Twilight Alchemi III? Its simple, you wilneed a Super Novice instead, so no more TK class for Twilight Alchemy II and III.

Grand Cross: the ol way.For all our mober friends. The mighty Grand Cross is back, it was nerfed to do less damage ifmore than one mob was in the same cell. So we reverted it, no matter how many mobs stand on

the same cell, youll do full damage.

NPCs clearly identified:If you think it will be a mess trying to find our custom NPCs, we have good

news for you. All our NPCs have a unique color according to their function onthe server. Speak to them.

Pblic Logs: Policy of Openness in the Kingdom.Tired of Reading always the same slogan no corruption and honest staff?Well, we wont make promises, well give you facts:In our Web site, youll have Access to a real time log of every action of our GM team. So ifyou think there is something wrong, an item was given to a player without authorization,take a picture, send it to us and well check the matter. If we find the person guilty, wellexecute him in public, and we the admins will give you its head for breakfast.

Panel de control (CP): everything you need, in one click.Some of the features that youll find in our CP:

Synchronization: you may have noticed that sometimes you want to searchsomething in sites like ratemyserver, but it turns that on your server things work in a different way,but nobody tells you how. Or simply, its CP is outdated.Here, youll have Access to all the info thats valid for our server.A Little ugly, yes, but useful: We wont lie to you; we arent masters of graphic design, nor artistsBut we put a great effort on making a CP that shows you all our monsters, items, maps, and whereyou can find them. You will see our actual items, their description and all the things that a playermay need. This means that well less question on the forum about who drops the bag of silvercoins? or where is the Pecosaur? yes, thats apecopeco and a dinosaur made one.

Statistics: for those who love numbers.One of the key features of our CP is that you will be able to see a lot of info about your (and others)performance in WoE and BG. We record statistics of every player that puts a foot inside a castle orBG Arena, if you trip on a Stone, well know. After every WoE, you will see how many players youkilled, how much you died, the damage you received, the zeny spent, how many acids, grenades,gemstones you used, etc.The same goes for BG, you will know who died the most, who captured more flags, stones, skulls,and much more.

PvP ArenasIf you are tired of playing always on the same maps, youll probably willlike to know that we have a special selection of maps to give your PvPexperience a fresh look.And also, we brought to you an old feature of Ragnarok: PvP roomslocated in every City Inn. There youll have access to our arenas, and willalso be able to recover quickly after every battle.

Bilingual Support: we hablar english and espaol!

All the info in our server, both in game and our CP can be found in english and spanish. We translated ourNPCs and some of the official ones. We wish that this will allow the community to grow larger, and will givethe users a chance to learn a little more of a foreign language.Altough Spanish is our main language; both admins have a good english speaking/writing skills. If you haveany question, we can schedule a TS session or you may write to us on our forums. But we only give support tothese two languages.

Integrated Language SystemDo you speak english? o hablas espaol?

Dont worry, all our NPCs (events, kafras and customs) will give you the option to select a particularlanguage (english or spanish).We dont clone NPCs and put them side by side. We believe that a good teaching is the key to success,so all our NPCs went to Rune Midgard Language Academy, and they are able to speak in bothlanguages. But, how to select it? In every city youll find a teacher from the Academy, she will allowyou to select the language, and all her students will speak to you in that one. This must be done onlyone time by account, so you dont need to do it with all your characters. And of course, you may

always change your settings later.

You think our english or spanish isnt perfect?If thats the case, you may contact us and tell us whatsthe error and well solve it in no time. Because

We arent perfectIf you find any bug, you can report it to us, and maybe youll get something nice in return. It may be a bag ofcoins for you, for buying that lovely hat you want, or that god-dammed equipment that you cant get.
