There have been many groups who have invaded India throughout history.

Who invaded India?
The Aryans brought the Hindu religion.
The Mongols brought the religion of Islam
The British brought roads, railways, democracy and the English language.
What affect might these invaders have on India’s culture?
Eighty percent of India’s population practice Hinduism.
Ten percent of India’s population practices Islam.
Other religions, such as Buddhism and Christianity are practiced by smaller groups in India.

Pakistan was created in the 1940’s as a homeland for the Indians who practiced Islam. It was divided (partitioned) into Western and Eastern Pakistan.
