provincial, national and international levels. Reporting involves the gathering of information through interviewing and research, the results of which are turned into a fair and balanced story for publication or for television or radio broadcast.

TIME TO WRITE! Today in class you are going to write a

personal essay This assignment will do a couple of things

1) It will give me an idea of where you are as a writer and if we need to spend time on basic writing skills

2) It will give me insight into why you chose to take this class over the other electives (be honest, if you’re here because you heard it’s an easy A, you are going to be sorely disappointed)

3)It will also let me know where the misconceptions lie amongst the entire staff so I know what I need to teach in the first couple weeks
