• Blip TV, formally known ‘blip.tv’, is a platform for web series to be watched and also offers a dashboard for producers of original web series distribute and monetise their own unique productions. BlipTV was founded on may 5th 2005 and is situated in New York city (HQ). Bain Capital Ventures firstly financed BlipTV. BlipTV works on a worldwide basic and are mainly shown web series and give you the opportunity to create your own and upload them.

Advantages to the user

• An advantage of Blip TV is that the user can watch a range of different TV series which range in different genres. Having a range of genres is good as it can widen the audience of people who can now watch BlipTV. Also many people will prefer BlipTV is that you don’t ned an account to watch the series which again will widen the audience as many people sometimes cant be bothered to make an account. This is very convenient for the user.

• Also you can leave comments and suggestion on each video which may help influence people to watch or not to watch a production but you will need to have an account to comment on videos.

Disadvantages to the user• Disadvantage to user would include that BlipTV once stared

using reroll advertising of companies which many users didn’t like as they then didn’t watch the series due to the amount of time they had to watch adverts. Bliptv however haven't removed their adverts as they are making money from the companies advertising. Again anther disadvantage would be that you will sometime get pop ups of again or of a company trying to sell you something which can be very annoying when you are trying t watch a series of something. A final disadvantage is that when a series on BlipTV doesn't accumulate enough views they will get rid of the series which wont be good or helpful for people who are currently watching the series.

How has Netflix changed the web series drama?

• Netflix have been very successful in the past 3 years and has been ne of the most used companies to watch series on. Netflix show movies, web and TV series along with documentaries. Web series where famously used on ?Netflix as this was a way that the web series could be watched. A web series swill have a low budget and will have actors who aren't famous. Netflix have changed the game is web series as they now have access to more exclusive actors and will have a bigger budget as many people have watched the first series on Netflix and want to watch more. Netflix have made web series very popular and because of this they are being more successful money wise and can now afford better actors which will make even more people want to watch their web series. A good example of a Netflix web series is Orange is the New Black as the first series was so successful, Netflix make another second series which people looked forward to and was anticipated by the audience of people who watched the first series and general people who have Netflix. Overall Netflix have helped web series as they get more people to watch them and have increased their budget and actor range.
