What is an E-What is an E-book?book?

E-book stands for electronic book, just as email stands for electronic mail. In our kindergarten, e-books will usually have a predictable, repetitive text, just as some of our emergent reading books do. This is so that kindergartners will be able to “read” the text with the support of the pictures or photos. Our e-books will usually feature our students doing some activity at school. Children love to see themselves and their friends in action, and so an e-book helps promote early literacy in an engaging manner.

A picture is worth a thousand words---an e-book is also a a pictorial way of letting you know what your child is doing at school. We hope you enjoy our kindergarten e-books, and that you will make them available to your child to read over and over at home on the computer.
