Dear DTE Customer,
The Superior Watershed Partnership (SWP) would like to offer you the opportunity to take
part in an affordable payment plan known as the Low Income Self-Sufficiency Plan (LSP) for
DTE natural gas consumers.
What is a Low Income Self Sufficiency Plan? (LSP)
The LSP plan allows DTE customers to make affordable monthly payments, based
on income and energy use, before reaching an energy crisis situation, such as
shut off of service! The LSP plan also helps reduce you past due balance over
time.
Why should I sign up for an LSP plan when I can get my past due charges paid every month
with one-time assistance?
1. There is no guarantee how long the MEAP-funded agencies will have funding for one-time
assists.
2. You only need to apply one time each year to sign up for the LSP plan.
3. Same payment every month.
4. Past due charges are paid off over time.
5. Late payment charges are not applied while on the program.
6. Outstanding arrears are frozen at the time of enrollment.
7. Every 3 months a portion of your arrears is paid off.
8. You are taking a step towards self-sufficiency and putting yourself in good standing with
your utility.
