What is a cellphone?
› A cellphone is a type of wireless communication device that uses small cells with a base station and a cellphone tower at the center of each cell.
› They are also defined as small sophisticated radios.
Our presentation will consist of 2 parts
› Part one will be a quick
history of cellphones
and how they work
› Part two will be us
discussing our design
project.
The original concept of cellphones began in 1947.
Bell laboratories introduced the idea though police
car technology – CB Radios.
Motorola was the first company to use the tech in
portable devices that were design outside the use
of an automobile.

Our project involved the design of a new phone based on a consumer survey we gave to the MCTM class and some of our family members.
The design focused on efficiency and cost modifications suggested by the survey respondents.
Our survey was limited to 10 basic questions.
Based on our research we have concluded, what type of phone that our survey group would like.
We hope to share our design with the public.
By focusing on certain features that our survey group wants we think that we have a well balanced and affordable phone design.
Communicate with peers – team members and EMPACTS staff
