Gulf Coast DisasterAn explosion and fire on a drilling rig on April 20 left 11 workers missing and presumed dead. The rig sank two

days later about 50 miles off the Louisiana coast. (New York Times, 2010)

If these waters were contaminated by the oil spill will the living organisms be

able to survive ?

Will the people who depend on the Gulf for their way of life survive this devastation?

In June on the beaches of Gulf Port, Mississippi the oil patties have surfaced

How long will it take for this site to

disappear……..

so that my son could be in the water instead of on a pier.
