WHAT GOD DID NOT INTEND…
God never intended for incense to be burned to the bronze serpent.
Venomous serpents in the camp of Israel (Number 21:4-9). To live they had to go and look upon the
bronze serpent.
Righteous King Hezekiah destroyed the bronze serpent (2 Kings 18:1-6). Who started burning incense to it in the
first place?
God did not intend for the ark of the covenant to be used as a talisman.
A talisman is any object used to give power, to keep away evil or to bring good luck.
God gave Israelites into enemies’ hands because they departed from Him (Judges 2:13-16, 18-19).
The ark of the covenant failed to be an instrument of deliverance against the Philistines (1 Samuel 4:2-4, 10-11).
Many people today use religiously objects for outward signs of piety.
The Wailing Wall is lifeless rocks left over from the destruction of the temple by Romans (Matthew 24:2).
What does God want us to do if gopher wood from Noah’s ark is found?
The Lord’s Supper is not intended to be a meal to fill the stomach.
Christians in Corinth were eating the Supper in a manner God did not intend for His Son’s memorial to become (1 Corinthians 11:20-22).
Man’s body was not created for immorality but to glorify God.
The goodness of creation includes natural physical desires and needs of both man and woman (Genesis 1:27, 31).
God does not intend for physical desires to be used selfishly, greedily, dishonorably and impurely (Ephesians 4:19; 1 Peter 4:3-4).
Christians’ bodies become a sanctuary to be dedicated to glorifying God daily (1 Corinthians 6:13-20).
