  • What do you think went well in 2013?Climbing wall, archery, karate and street dance sessions were all popular with the children. All the other activities were well received too. Cookery sessions were very popularOutdoor activities were very popular this year, possibly due to a higher ratio of boys. Cooking was also a highly requested activity. We successfully accessed free play training sessions through the District Council which reflected in some of the fun free play sessionsThe organisation of the scheme went well and the marketing and preparation. Outreach was good around local schools and communities. Also the text campaign really helped towards spreading the work about the scheme the range of activities, the enthusiasm of the volunteers and the amazing behaviour of the kids. Being able to buy new and better equipment and vary the activities year on year is wonderful, so thank-you!the kids said: its been really fun, [aged 8], its fantastic [aged 7]. The best thing: everything because there were no bullies [aged 9], Rockets! [ aged 10]Use of teen helpers to support staff ratios was very effective. Children responded well to teen helpersLots of cheap resources Oadby Resource Centre/boxes from AsdaPlaying with large boxes, using imagination and creativity. Children making new friends.
