I first came to UNC Kenan-Flagler as anundergraduate student, and returned in 1990 asfaculty. I have been with the School in variousroles for the last quarter-century, and I can attestthat there has never been a more exciting time forthe School.

3–5 pm Getting to Know Your Favorite Grapes – A Style Tasting / with Elizabeth Schneider (MBA 2005)McColl Building, Room 3650 / Join Elizabeth Schneider (MBA 2005), chief normal wine person of “Wine for Normal People,” a podcast, wine edutainment company and upcoming eponymousbook, for a wine class unlike any other.Wine grapes often have the same names in every region (Merlot, Riesling, etc.), but they can tastedrastically different depending on where they are grown and who makes them—often causingpeople who thought they knew Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, or Syrah to scratch their heads and takeanother look. In this tasting we will taste wines in three pairs. The pairs will be the same grapes thattaste nothing like one another (e.g., Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa vs. Bordeaux, which is alsoCabernet based). What better way to learn about what a grape really tastes like and what thedifferences in how countries make wine than to see it this way?

He was inducted into the North CarolinaSports Hall of Fame in 1991. He played for the Kansas City Kings, New Jersey Nets,Milwaukee Bucks, and Houston Rockets before returning to Chapel Hill in 1988 to serve asan assistant coach under Coach Dean E. Smith until 2000.

CHILD CARE INFORMATION Child care will be provided by Fun Spaces North Carolina,owned and operated by Yolanda Brown (MBA 2005) on UNCKenan-Flagler’s campus. Yolanda and her staff will beequipped to entertain your kids with games, crafts, and toysto ensure their comfort while you enjoy celebrating yourreunion. The cost of child care for the entire weekend will be a nominal fee of $30 per child per day. Space is limited, so besure to mark on registration that you are interested. We willcharge you upon arrival. Parents will need to fill out a consent,allergy, and soothing form for each child.
