POC: Terrence Van Zyl/CSIR

PlannedDeliverables

Sensor Web for Namibian Flood and Malaria, lead by Dan Mandl/NASA, working in conjunction with the Health SBA and looking at the use case relating the applicability of sensor web technologies to the tracking of vector borne diseases, there relationship to environmental factors and the integration of remote sensed data from CEOS and In-Situ data sources.Caribbean Flood Sensor Web , lead by Stu Fry/NASA, working in conjunction with the Disaster SBA under the AIP-2 and looking at the use case relating the applicability of sensor web technologies as a mechanism for integration of remote sensed and In-Situ data and as a valuable tool in providing near-real time data

Current Status

Moving forward both activities are still active

Way Forward Look to produce a video for the upcoming GEO Plenary to show the value of the activities undertaken (Disaster SBA VDO)

DA-09-01b_2: Data, Metadata, and Products Harmonization

Establish a WGISS project to focus its contributions to the subject task and to generate those contributions. The first deliverable of the GEO task is an Assessment of Current Capabilities

POC: Ken Mc Donald/NOAA

Planned Deliverables:

June 2009: Develop assignments for assessmentsSept. 2009: Complete draft inputs to Assessment Report

Current Status -Initial assessment of current GCI registries (Discovery and search) completed -Also undertaking additional steps 1) Development of a domain model consistent with GCI ConOps 2) Relevant standards/guidelines and metadata requirements for discovery, search and access 3) Exploring clearinghouse requirements for remote sensing data products with distributed search capabilities

Way Forward WGISS to Host the GEO workshop on Data Integration and Analysis Systems in Washington on Nov. 11-12-WGISS will work with VC and SBA on developing portal based on CWIC experience-WGISS team to work with CEO to report to GEO ADC and share ADC meeting highlight with WGSS
