Weatherford’s HJ double-acting hydraulic drilling jar can provide immediate jarring in eitherdirection to free stuck pipe or bits. This capability results in greater jarring exibility andeffectiveness.
The HJ jar can be teamed with Weatherford’s MA drilling impact enhancer to increase theacceleration of the hammer mass for greater impacts.
• High-angle drillstrings
• All conventional oil and gas wells
• Deviated oil and gas wells
• In its normal locked position, the HJ jar delivers immediate upward or downward blows tofree stuck pipe. This two-way exibility enhances jarring performance.
• Fast resetting is achieved by re-engaging the lock to allow continuous up or down jarring.
• The HJ jar comes complete with a mechanical lock mechanism to prevent accidental ringduring normal operations and to eliminate the requirementfor a safety clamp.
• The hydraulic metering system works independently from uid viscosity to ensureconsistent delay times over the full operating temperature range for optimal performance.

Pump-open force is created by pressure drop across the bit. The pump pressurecreates a reaction force in the tool that tries to force it open. Reduce the pump toidle before attempting to jar.
