WF 410 MCWF 610 MCUniversal Milling Machine
MANUAL AND CNC-OPERATEDThe WF 410 MC and WF 610 MC are primarily used
for training purposes and the manufacture of single
parts and small-batch products. High performance,
maximum precision and ease of use are the
distinguishing features of these modern conventional
and CNC-operated universal milling machines.
Even the standard versions offer mechanical hand
wheels and can be operated effortlessly and
immediately, thereby dispensing with extensive
training.
The vertical milling head has an extending quill
and can quickly be swivelled through ± 90°.
For horizontal processing, the vertical milling head
can be swivelled to one side on a swivel arm in a
few simple steps, freeing the horizontal milling
spindle, and permitting milling with or without an
arbor holder and long milling spindle.
In place of the rigid angular table, the WF 410 MC
and WF 610 MC can also be equipped with an
universal table including digital readout.

HIGH PERFORMANCEModern, high-torque drives as well as a solid
machine column with hardened flat guideways also
make it possible to process materials that are
difficult to machine. Both the spindle speeds and
the feed rates can be steplessly adjusted using
a potentiometer.
MAXIMUM PRECISIONThanks to the steplessly adjustable single feed
drives and backlash-free ball screws, the
WF 410 MC and WF 610 MC permit exact
positioning and effortless up and down milling.
In addition, the machines have linear measuring
systems in all axes.
Automatic axis clamping through the feed motor
brakes ensures operational safety and guarantees
a consistently high long-term accuracy of the
machine geometry.
MANUAL AND CNC-OPERATEDOptimum accessibility and precision-oriented
arrangement of the control elements make the
WF 410 MC and WF 610 MC flexible, compact
machines that are easy to use.
A key-operated switch makes it possible to
change directly between manual hand wheel
operation and CNC operation.
A key-operated switch permits 3 different
operating modes:
3 Manual: Using mechanical hand wheels
or the electronic hand wheel (option)
with opened doors and 3-axis digital
readout
3 CNC: With TNC 620 contouring control
3 Set-up: Setting-up the machine for CNC
operation with opened doors by pressing
a confirmation button
In the manual operating mode, the TNC 620
contouring control is automatically reduced to the
function of a purely 3-axis digital readout. This
means that simple milling tasks can be quickly
processed without programming knowledge and
also with cabin doors opened.
In the CNC operating mode, the user then has
access to the full functionality of a modern,
dialogue-guided contouring control system with a
large monitor and extensive programming cycles.

MECHANICAL HAND WHEEL FOR Y-AXIS
Ergonomically positioned,
monitored through 2 channels.
The hand wheel remains engaged
when activated, and message
„hand wheel X-axis active“ is
displayed on the screen. For
safety reasons, the machine
cannot be operated by means of
the axis selection buttons as long
as the mechanical hand wheel
is active.
Y MECHANICAL HAND WHEEL FOR X-AXIS
Acting directly on ball screw
spindle, monitored through 2
channels (2 sensors).The hand
wheel remains engaged when
activated, and message „hand
wheel X-axis active“ is displayed
on the screen. For safety
reasons, the machine cannot be
operated by means of the axis
selection buttons as long as the
mechanical hand wheel is active.
When the mechanical hand wheels are activated
the axes are switched to a safe state, e.g. STO (Safe Torque Off).
This prevents that the axes are inadvertently moved electrically.
CABIN DOOR SWITCHES
Safety switches, for splash guard
cabin, including locking
mechanism and safety cabin door
monitoring system. Using the key
switch, it is possible to adjust
the operating mode of the digital
readout to match the qualification
of the operator.

HEIDENHAIN TNC 620CONTOURING CONTROLCompact versatile contouring control with
3 controlled axes and the possibility of another
4th axis, for example to integrate a CNC
dividing unit.
Workshop-oriented programmability with
Heidenhain conversational programming or
on request: with DIN/ISO code.
- cycles: boring, reaming, pockets, slots, contours
- 3-D-graphics incl. simulation
- Automatic machining of boring holes under an
angle (option) - Touch probe cycles for 3-D-touch
probe system
- USB- and fast-ethernet-interface
TNC 620 TOUCH SCREENThe WF 410 and WF 610 MC standard models are
equipped with a Heidenhain TNC 620 FS control system
(functional safety), which means that all safety-relevant
control circuits are monitored through 2 channels.
The machines can be upgraded with a modern
touch screen (optional).
In this case, the control comes with an integrated
PC keyboard.

ARBOR HOLDERThe arbor holder is an additional device for
horizontal milling. In just a few steps it is mounted
to the ram of the machine and allows the efficient
use of long cutter spindles with one or more
disk milling cutters up to a diameter of 160 mm.
UNIVERSAL TABLEThe universal tilting and swivelling table allows the
operator to position the work piece in different
angular positions. The adjustment is done manually
using a hand wheel while the rotation angle of the
clamping plate is digitally indicated on the display
of the control system.
CNC DIVIDING UNITWorkpieces may be manufactured multi-sided
through the integration of a CNC dividing unit; the
programming is done through the 4th axis of the
control system. The dividing unit can be installed
vertically or even horizontally on the angular table.
ELECTRONIC HAND WHEELThis is a handheld device enabling the operator to
get closer to the working range of the machine
during set-up or similar procedures. The hand wheel
housing incorporates axis buttons, buttons for feed
rates and control buttons for the machine.
PC KEYBOARDUseful for the input of commentary and texts in the
control. The keyboard is protected against splash water
ORIENTED SPINDLE STOPMachine and control system are set-up in a way
that thread cutting is possible without the use of
a compensation chuck.
TOUCH PROBE SYSTEMSTogether with the probing cycles of the control system,
triggering 3D touch probe systems simplify
the set-up, measuring and checking functions
when manufacturing workpieces.
AUTOMATIC TOOL MEASUREMENTThe tool is a vital element in ensuring consistent
manufacturing quality. Various control system cycles
are used to automatically register tool parameters
such as the exact tool length, the tool radius and
even the tool wear.
