Seems like typical Western New York weather, 90 humid degrees one day and 24 hours later we're pulling out sweaters and turning on furnaces. So it’s only fitting that our speaker this month is Dan Masterson, who will be talking about pond closings. If you haven't already gotten your pond ready for the cold weather, this will be an ideal time to pick up a few pointers. We also have a speaker lined up for November, Wayne K Gall, PhD who will be talking about Damsel Flies, Dragonflies, Stone Flies and other pond "monsters". You won't want to miss this one. Our Christmas party this year will be on Friday, December 11th at Rizzo's Banchetti on North French Road in Amherst. Tickets will be $25.00 per person and will be available at both the October and November meetings or by calling Chris. Appetizers will be from 6:30 to 7:30 with dinner buffet to follow. I'd personally like to thank the members who volunteered their time at the Reinstein Woods Fall Festival: Chris, Dennis, Ann, Audrey and Nancy. The kiddos had a great time with the sand art and fish pictures despite the cold damp weather. If anyone would like to sign up for the refreshment table for October, please contact Bev Jarmuz. Next BOD meeting will be at my house on October 29th. As always, RSVP if you're planning to attend.
