WCA Leadership Committee
• The WCA Leadership Committee is a group of appointed and elected representatives from the parent body, teachers, and students who work to fulfill the mission of the WCA.

Our Mission
• The Westwood Community Association’s mission is to encourage and strengthen Westwood’s legacy, in collaboration with the school and the community, by facilitating the investment of time, gifts, and services by parents, students, and faculty.

• All clubs will nominate a point person within their own clubs who will coordinate communications and activities.

How Do I Sign Up?

Elections
• Each year, we will elect representatives for each school level: Toddler/Preschool, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Upper School.
• Those representatives will facilitate communication between parents, teachers, and the WCA Leadership Committee.• They will work closely with the teachers to determine the needs for each level.
• Representatives will serve a full year as a representative and ½ year mentoring the next representative• This will improve continuity from year to year on the Leadership Committee.
Qualifications for Level Representatives
• Must be at Westwood no less than one full school year• Must have a basic understanding of and be willing to support the school’s mission as well as both Montessori
and IB philosophies as applicable• Must understand the mission and core values of the WCA• Must be able to attend a majority of Executive Committee Meetings• Must be able to work with individuals from families, staff, and the greater community in an objective and
respectful manner• Must be able to identify and relate effectively to the differences that exist within our community• Must be able to regularly attend WCA hosted events• AND must have a child in the level for which he/she is nominated.
How do we elect our level representatives?
• A nominations e-mail will go out Wednesday, May 4.• Click the link to the nomination site, and make your nominations.
• Nominations will run from May 4 to May 6.• An elections e-mail will go out Monday, May 9.

• Elections close May 11.• Announcements regarding elections will follow.
