Mary, May I Walk with You a While Sue Matz LIGHTING OF THE CHRIST CANDLE CAROL Silent Night, Holy Night Joesph Mohr
Silent night, holy night! All is calm, all is bright, Round yon virgin mother and child! Holy Infant, so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night! Son of God, love’s pure light Radiant beams from Thy holy face, With the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth, Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.
Silent night, holy night! Wondrous star, lend thy light; With the angels let us sing, Alleluia to our King; Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born.

PRAYER FOR CHRISTMAS EVE Mark Brainerd
SONG RESPONSE
O Little Town of Bethlehem Phillips Brooks/Lewis H. Redner
How silently, how silently, the wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts the blessings of his heaven.
No ear may hear his coming, but in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive him, still the dear Christ enters in.
O holy Child of Bethlehem, Descend to us, we pray; Cast out our sin and enter in, Be born in us today.
We hear the Christmas angels The great glad tidings tell; O come to us, abide with us, Our Lord Emmanuel!
CHRISTMAS LITANY
Emmanuel, God, you are with us, We have heard the promise of the prophets.
We have strained on tiptoes to hear the angels’ song We have seen a star in the heavens.
Tonight we come to be with you, Jesus, because you came to be with us. We seek an innocent, newborn baby.
We seek the one who will teach us the way of peace. We seek the one who will show us the way of love.
We seek the one who will guide us in the way of mercy and justice. We seek Jesus, the light of the world in whom there is no darkness at all.
OFFERING AND DISTRIBUTION OF THE ANGELS
During the service each family will be invited to select an ornament and take it home with them (one per family, please). This angel represents the spirit of Christ-mas from our Westminster family, lighting up your home as you place it on your tree. Thanks to all the Angelmakers for making this tradition possible!

*SPREADING THE LIGHT OF CHRIST *CAROL Angels We Have Heard on High French Carol
Angels we have heard on high, Sweetly singing o'er the plains; And the mountains in reply, Echoing their joyous strains.
Chorus: Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong? What the gladsome tidings be Which inspire your heav'nly song?
(Chorus)
Come to Bethlehem and see, Him whose birth the angels sing; Come adore on bended knee, Christ the Lord, the newborn King. (Chorus)
*CHARGE AND BENEDICTION *CAROL Joy to the World Watts/Handel/Mason
Joy to the world! the Lord is come: Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him room, And heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing, And heaven, and heaven and nature sing.
He rules the world with truth and grace And makes the nations prove the glories of his righteousness, And wonders of His love, and wonders of His love, And wonders, wonders of His love.
* All who are able, please stand
